And now, the story continues......

Leeloo realises she is not alone.

I'm learning a lot from this photo series.
I took today picture using a lot stronger lighting.
I used a couple of strong halogen work lights that I have for when I'm painting a room.
I also use an additional halogen reading light.
The bright lights shining from three points made the hair extraction much easier.
I had been having trouble extracting the hair from the backgrowd because of shadows.
This time I made sure there were no shadows behind the hair.

Also it was hard to remove Milla Jovovich's arm from the curved chamber at the left end.
I used a little trick to make it easier.
If you look closely, I cloned the right end of the chamber, flipped it horizontally, and then placed it on the left side.

Giorgi cannot completely bend her knees like Leeloo does in the original photo.
I had to modify the pose to something she could handle.

Manipulating photos is always interesting and Tricky. A large percentage of the backgrounds I use in my own thread need people and objects removed , words changed and the bits added. It is a big challenge but looks great when the job is done. Your last photos fantastic and I was actually wondering myself how you did the end of the chamber before I finished reading the post. I have used that trick myself many times.
Probably your best photo yet in this series.

A small suggestion: Try to use different frames from the same scene to remove the original Leeloo.

I agree 100% with everything you said.

In the few attempts I've done at recreating movie scenes with dolls, it's the removing of the original actor from the scene that's been tricky for me.

It's great that scooter_ca is giving us some extra information to let us know how he did it.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone.
Things got busy over the weekend so I had to slow down a bit, but I'm glad when I can get back into it.

Hi Tsall. You're right about using other frames to fill in the gaps.
I actually did use that method to complete the lab coat of the technician on the left.
I could have used the same method on the chamber as well, but I guess I spaced out.

I'm learning as I go and am enjoying the challenge.
I tried a couple of new things in the last picture. I'll describe it more at the end.

And now, we progress another frame or two....

Leeloo sees the Multi Pass for the first time.

Sensing it's significance, she starts planning her escape.

So there's a few fun features in this last picture.

Eyes: Giorgi's normal eyes have an upward glance to them but not nearly enough as was needed for this picture.
I spent a long time getting her to look even further up.
The effect is OK, but dont look to closely.

Hands: Giorgi's hand is pressed against the glass chamber, I whitened her fingertips and thumb to give that effect.

Masking: Part of Giorgi is masked so that she appears behind the General.
