Jensen (Reloaded)

Post by Unwritten »

Ok folks this is going to be Jensen's new thread seeing as I have a camera now. :). I tried to take my time and get some good shots bot just winging it like I was before. I'm still learning, and this is the first time I've held a camera in 25 or so years.(that's not connected to my phone).

So I was playing some wrestling last night on my ps4, and using the Hart Foundation, Jensen and I decided her outfit to kick this off would be a tribute to the "Pink and Black".

Hope you enjoy, and I'm always open to advice/criticism.

For some reason most of the photos got rotated. They weren't like that when I previewed it. Hmm..

this happens a lot if you use a phone or turn the camera sideways.

Great photos , Unwritten.

As for the photos not being the correct orientation. I had this problem then I started posting photos too. What was suggested to me and it works, is using GIMP. When you open a photo that needs to be rotated it will ask if you want it rotated. You just save it back to your pc right after.

Another way would be to take the photo horizontally and cropping it to make it a portrait photo.

For myself the photos that need rotating look fine with Windows.

@Dollarhyde & RJ357 - Thanks! I'm going to try to do a weekly photoshoot on the weekends while working on my photography skills during the week. I just Love taking pics of my girls, and getting a standing model this time just upped my enthusiasm big time.

@Jimmy, Maviarab, & Carlys_guy - Thank you for the tips! Unfotunately I'm doing the editing on my phone, as I don't have a computer. I tested it in Jensen's original thread and the rotated photo held so I figured I was good. This time the cropping held, but rotations did not. Even though the preview of the post had them oriented the correct way. I need to search my garage because I think I have an old laptop somewhere that might work-- if photo editing is all I'm using it for.

Hey Unwritten, I had the same problem when using my new camera this weekend too. Photos kept posting horizontal even though they looked upright on my laptop. I think I ended up having to email them to myself and then using a photo editor to save them to my phone. Once I had the "new file" saved, they would appear fine after that. Kinda tedious but until somebody tells me an easier way, that's what I'm gonna have to do. Talk about being a photography noob! :haha4:

Great job unwritten,
I also bought a new camera, however the phone right now it doing what I want.
I'm taking double shots. With the phone and the camera.
I bought a entry level camera. A Canon T100 Rebel. With 18-55mm lens.
What did kind of camera did you get?

That's a portrat vs landscape.
When I use my phone I have to rotate all the photos 90.
If you want something you never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.

Mine was free from a relative, Nikon Coolpix L820. Specs say 4-120mm(22.5mm-675mm 35mm equivalent) lens, but I have no idea what that means. Never owned a camera before.

@ Mr. D- I'm still looking for my old laptop so I can mofify the photos. Just been busy(which for me means my gals have been talking me into daily naps :D)

@ Dollarhyde- For sure!
