Thanks. Anybody can learn how to take good pictures!!!! I started by really studying my camera manual and utilizing books on lighting. Nowadays you can just watch tutorials online.

This is true. It's practice and attention to detail. But it also helps to be a lady knowing how ladies are from the inside, and likewise to be familiar with makeup techniques.

For that reason most of us men don't have a chance.

All we can do is to learn from the master mistress supreme.

hahahaha! Sweet compliment! You know, these days you can learn so much on the internet... including copying lady like, thoughtful poses (though you already do).

That's a most sweet and treasured compliment also.

I find natural light very interesting. Using bright sun when I can, with reflectors, it's always moving and the reflected light often moves twice as fast. So this leads to having to work very fast. This often means that a detail is overlooked but leads to poses that are of the nature of capturing the instant, and thus might have some factor of life to them. It's for this reason that my "standard portraits" aren't standard at all save in angles and idea of hair, and might therefore reflect how the doll as a person is seen in real life situations of different light. Likewise I really enjoy dolls who can stand on their own, balanced on their feet not touching anything. Again this puts one under the greatest of pressure to get that shot before the wind blows, or before a faulty balance causes them to fall over. For me this is part of the challenge and part of the art.

The advantage of a doll as a model for me is that I can observe light, know when it happens, and unlike a time-hired model the doll is always available to capture the moment of light.

But the pleasure of a DS doll is often the precision with which she moves and a joy in posing her - and whilst you take wonderful photos of all dolls I think we see that especially with your DS ladies.

And by the way, I was thinking of starting a thread about the heroine of the forum. Not only are your photos an example to us all but wherever I go on the forum there are posts from you congratulating, complimenting and encouraging others. Were it possible for the forum to award a medal it's to you that it should go.
