noob here- question about hair style

Post by anabolic1 »

sup fellas, noob here,
was wondering if the doll's hair can be in a 'bun' style (where the hair is pulled into a knot) I am asking becasue I don't know where the hairline is on these dolls if it would be possible (if that makes sense)

cheers fellas, have a good one.

Hi Anabolic, welcome to TDF :D
These doll wear wigs, so best is to find a wig in the style you like 8)
I'm not sure I understand 'bun' style, but with wigs, having the hair pulled back is difficult.

A bun is generally made by pulling all the hair up and/or back, and then together, and then twisting it in a circular motion to get it to stay as a tight...bun. Imagine kind of like a cinnamon roll. Hehe! The bun can be looser or tighter according to the styling preference.

Thanks for the explanation
This classic bun style won't be possible wearing a wig.

That is, with the wigs I know, you don't want the hairline to be visible.
And pulling back the hair, you will definitely pull off the wig :(

P.S. I've moved this thread to the Wigs & Hair forum, as it is not specific to RealDolls.

I suggest you let the sides and bangs alone, but pull the hair in back into a bun. If you are a lazy guy like I am, then you would opt 4 a short n messy hair style or something easy to comb.

Welcome to the forum Anabolic1, You have found the right place to get some answered to your questions.
Most of the dolls you see here have wigs except for some inflatables which have rooted heir. TDF member Karrot has started a good tutorial thread on styling wigs. here is the url. http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=42003
Although some hairdos like a tight bun or pigtails are hard to make look right because of how the wigs are rooted. So a another idea would be to buy a wig that is manufactured with the required hairdo such as in this case a bun wig. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=hair+bun+wig

Hey fellas,
my buddy told me to search 'front lace wigs', and I found a good link ( for ilustrative purposes): http://www.follea.com/data/special/03/l ... -wigs.html just scroll to the bottom and they have some good pictures. They have realistic hairlines (which is whats needed for the style i'm looking for). but i'm no expert, so I ask you: yay or nay?
cheers.
