FNG ? regarding hairsprays

Post by Rick9191 »

I've looked around here a bit and see where this and/or that will damaged tpe, melt it or discolor it. So before fumbling any further than I already have. Are hairsprays or certain brands harmful to the dolls? TPE in particular. To clarify, just like on human, I'd cover face, neck and body when applying. I'm more concerned with after when all the annoying fabric can be removed :). Thanks in advance for any input.

Not sure regarding the effect of TPE...but don't use hairspray on a synthetic wig. Or any other human hair product for that matter.

2nd that. Hairspray will make a mess of synthetic hair. I just mist with water to style and reduce static. Also, most hair sprays contain as much as 25-50% alcohol, which can dry and damage TPE.

You might also want to make a mix of 1 part to 20 fabric softener and water for misting as per Franz' comments. Fabric softener (Downy if in States is good) is also good for soaking the synth wig in to give it a bit of a spruce up. Same concentration of 1/20 (or similar).

Also makes wig smell nice ;)
