Re: My hybrid doll: Happy Doll fabric body with silicone head

Hello Achtung Thanks for posting your review. I'm actually in the process of ordering a Happydoll as well with a silicone head (Zelex GE86, apparently very similar construction to the Tifa head). I was wondering whether you could say a bit more about how the Tifa head attaches to the Happydoll? How ...

Re: Audio for dolls

Bit of a lightbulb moment. Detecting doll pose shouldn't be something I'm spending time on - doll has to be posed anyway and is almost certainly going to be static during the play session. So have an option for setting doll position in the flow and be done with it. The doll position is then a possib...

Re: Large language models for doll speech

Superficiality isn't really the main problem, at least not at the level you seem to be thinking here. The example doesn't demonstrate it all that well, but these models can generate whole books worth of flowing prose that seems coherent at a first glance. They don't REALLY understand what's going o...

Re: Large language models for doll speech

Well I guess that is the status quo - two programs. One side is chat bots, whether its a self trained replika.ai, the above NN engine, or harmony AI/realdollx from Realbotix (I haven't bought a subscription, I'm guessing its a custom trained NN with modified TTS to make it more lifelike with specifi...

Re: Large language models for doll speech

The outputs look a bit similar to how replika.ai might respond, responding in the affirmative in a superficial manner, or holding patterns if its not sure what the response should be. Actual spontaneous conversation unconstrained by context I suspect is one of the hardest nuts to crack in AI. Then a...

Re: Audio for dolls

Those are some long distances for USB cables (pretty sure its out of spec). But if it works for you, hey it works, the specs have margins in them. I got it working with a SQLite database :) 4 sound files attached to each of the 4 doll states, and the flows will continuously loop inside each group of...

Re: Audio for dolls

Here's an image of the finite state machine & transitions I've mocked up into node-red. https://postimg.cc/fVZChzh1 Audio files get associated with different states (the circles) and state transitions (the arrows). The states are for the doll's. Will need to think about what triggers the transit...

Re: Audio for dolls

Thanks RK, your post arrived just as I hit send on previous. The complexity I think will be largely on my side to develop. In terms of the typical user, the requirements are likely to be: * PC that can run node-red (can be windows or linux - pretty sure there's a macos version as well) * ability to ...

Re: Audio for dolls

Was thinking about the underlying structure for the database and scripting. Thinking of going with tracking the virtual arousal state of the doll, mimicking the sexual response cycle model as described by Kaplan/Masters & Johnson. So 4 states in all, and the VA then has a guide as to what kind o...

Re: Audio for dolls

Thanks MF. Your idea with PIR sensor is pretty nifty, hadn't thought of that. Did a bit more digging into bluetooth and using bluetooth protocol just for localisation is not a goer it seems. NFC/induction needs to be looked at, and switches is always a good fall back. I'm still hoping for a solution...

Audio for dolls

Hi all Newbie/lurker here. I've seen a few threads around enhancing doll experience with audio, and some pretty cool (and ongoing) projects. I wanted to get people's thoughts on a new project before I begin it. First of all, the basics are nothing new, and shamelessly rips off previous threads. Conc...
