I just recently picked up the faceapp to play with, and I think it's fun, but can be hit or miss. I definitely like the inclusion of the odd one in the shoot, and that you kept plenty of non altered ones, so we can see the original. I kinda like the before/after comparisons.

Wig colour and eye colour can make a huge difference. Same with glasses or hats, so local thrift stores for cheap accessories are worth checking out too. I picked up a few sets of glasses from a dollar store, for like $2 each, and was totally worth it.

I just ordered a wm 172b with this feature on head 436. I hope they offer this on all their heads eventually, though that might mean I'd have to re-buy a bunch...lol

I've also got this head, and recently ordered a 172b, so I can't wait to see how she is in person. Wig and eye colours can make a big difference with her, might I suggest giving her a try as a redhead? (I have a few photos, but am new to the forum, so I don't think I can post them yet)
