Re: Animatronic doll head study A-Z. Electric servo type. No

Have you considered pneumatic muscles (Mckibben muscle) at all? I am about as clueless as anyone on this but from what I've seen, they can perform any linear motion (pulling, like any muscle), and can even be made cheaply DIY. I'm not sure if this fits into what you are thinking about here, or have ...

Re: My Quest for an Anthropomorphic Doll

I may just have to take over this quest. As an (amateur) artist, I am interested in trying to make a "furry" head that would be compatible with a doll, even though I am not really into that genre myself, I see it as an interesting artistic challenge. I have experience sculpting and mold ma...

Re: New Type of Hyper-Realistic "Plushie" Doll for Big Boys

Best of luck with your project, but I am curious as to how you will be able to make a more realistic doll using fabric? I find tpe dolls almost indistinguishable from a person, if someone knows how to take good pictures. May I ask what type of fabric are you using?

Re: Anyone try a Soloflesh yet?

So are there any official sellers of these still around? Where can one purchase it? Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MQWWKJT/?coliid=I2LFJOG3N2QKF7&colid=2A6GKTM0J53UG&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Not the right shape, though. What was great about it was the big booty shape. I'm kind of...

Re: Facial movements without AI. Blinking eyes & mouth movem

I remember someone here mentioned about Flexinol actuator. A quick google search brings me here: https://www.robotshop.com/en/flexinol-en.html This kind of actuator wire might be the key to your concoction? Like connecting the wire to a tiny bluetooth speaker? That would probably work really well, ...

Re: Facial movements without AI. Blinking eyes & mouth movem

I totally agree with that. Moving, blinking eyes and mouth movements, even if seemingly random, would be amazing and add a lot more realism. Could just be a battery powered motor with gears, no need for any robotics or AI whatsoever.

Re: Anyone try a Soloflesh yet?

I saw the news somewhere the factory stop producing it years ago so any products in the market are either stocks or fakes. I had a relationship with Soloflesh and was a beta tester for the company which meant I received free product in exchange for my opinions and reviews. There never was a 'Factor...

Looks good so far. What type of material will you be casting this in? Will you be incorporating animatronics into the head as well?

Re: Lovepuppet intro

I'm also interested to see what you've done. One of the main problems with dolls is their static nature. I've always been fascinated by the lifelike appearance of puppets. There is a lot of opportunity to incorporate puppetry and animatronics in dolls.
