Re: My girl Hope - repair thread

Cut the excess of and I think this will work out fine once fully set. I'll leave it for a couple days to fully set as it's going to take a while I think then I'll cut the pet fit area and USB cable hole out, bond that so it's semi watertight and spray a bit of foam around to bond that in. Then I'll ...

Re: My girl Hope - repair thread

True never used this stuff before.

I'm worried a little about structural strength of the pet fit staying in place if this foam just compresses to a flat sheet when any pressure is on it.
ill check once cured and may have to cut out some foam and 3d print a mount for the pet fit if thats the case.

After this cures I plan to cut it for the pet fit to fit in with the charging cable and put a bit around it making sure I...

Re: My girl Hope - repair thread

I have the two part foam you are talking about. I have 5lb and 15lb foam. I work with it for special effects. It is a fucking bitch to work with, and it's fucking expensive. In my opinion, you need to use Loctite crack filling foam in aerosol cans. 1) Much cheaper 2) Can be put down in phases. 3) T...

Re: My girl Hope - repair thread

Just had a google for foam and I need "2-Part Polyurethane foam" to go with fiberglass. They use it for boats over the hull. So later I'll google where to get it locally. @Seagull, with the all fiberglass, would be hard with all the empty space in the cavity that's why I want to foam it up...

Re: My girl Hope - repair thread

Not sure how to use fiberglass in this situation.
It's a bit hard to keep open when working.

I was thinking wouldn't it be better to spray foam the inside to get that quickly and easily filled then fiberglass or bondo around the heart piece to get it in place.

What do you other repairers think?

Re: My girl Hope - repair thread

Cut the hole for her heart, this is probably going to be easier than I thought. I need to find some good expanding foam or something to fill the chest up and mound around the heart that will keep it in place, any recommendations for something I can get down under? I'll be running a USB cable from th...

Re: My girl Hope - repair thread

This has been on my mind the last couple months and slipped my mind at the same time, its like every time I look at Hope I know this needs to be done but the procrastination and worry that I'll mess up more and feeling uncomfortable I don't do anything. I am looking today at the holes and how I can ...

Re: My girl Hope - repair thread

I'll take some pictures of where I need to join parts and said parts next to them. The back piece I know how to do that and have that mostly made. The thing in worried about the most is closing the TPE up and doing all the scuffs. Before I do the back I want to close up the end of the holes to make ...
