Haha! Yes - I do too but there are limits. It's best to canvas members who have the EVO. But DS have clearly addressed the sex issue with the Summit doll and they are bringing out a European face version at some stage and which I will be reviewing.

Best wishes

I eagerly await seeing the western version, and reading your review.

Aeron wrote:[…] since you mentioned the EVO is firmer the the DS-163 […]
I have never said in this context that the EVO is firmer the the DS-163, and exactly this kind of misconceptions make discussions like this pointless.

What I actually wrote was (section 4):
Compared to my DS-163 from last year, the breasts are firmer.
So this statement clearly applies only to a 2017 build of the DS-163, and it is limited only to the breasts. Since 2014 I have seen at least four different build types for the 163 with very different softness zones, so any generalizations are simply invalid. Whoever would make such generalized claims would not know what he'd be talking about. And yes, as far as DS is concerned, these material/softness changes apply to other components like the inserts, too. An "B" type insert from 2015 is not the same as one from 2018. DS even changed the color without changing the type name.

Also noteworthy is that my Evo is from mid of 2018, and it is pretty likely that there were one or multiple Evo builds in the meantime, too.

To make meaningful comparisons, you need as well timestamp the dolls as to have both dolls side by side at the same time, or you would need to rely on your haptic memory which usually is not very accurate. Or to phrase it differently, you would otherwise end up with nonsense haiku statements like 'the DS-163 is harder than the DS-163'. That would apply to both 163's I have here. They are just from different manufacturing cycles.

There is absolutely no reason to assume that it's not similar with other doll makers. Softness in different areas of the body can change as well with the build date of a certain model as with the model type. I can positively verify this for Maidlee Doll's Maid-Fong, for all Doll Sweets and some Z-Onedolls where I had the pleasure to compare different build dates, and to some extent also for Sino-doll and Xycolo. If you extend the scope to TPE dolls, you can spot this kind of intra-model-line-changes changes, too.

No - it's not the softness per se, it's that the vagina is really too small to enter unless by an iron rod.

I think that DS have now paid special attention to this with their Summit if their video is anything to go by

As for softness comparisons with others Sandro's better qualified to comment than I.

Dollstudio wrote:4) Silicone blend, skin surface and skin tone.

Now things are getting a little bit more difficult. The silicone blend has slighly changed once more. The memory foam like haptics are still there, but it is less obvious. Compared to my DS-163 from last year, the breasts are firmer. In direct comparison, the skin surface is a little less tacky than the 2017 blend. However, if you powder you doll, the tackiness will be mitigated.
Hi Sandro,

I actually never noticed people talking about this before, but is the DS EVO's silicon softness also one of the reasons why it's not considered a good sex doll?

Is the memory foam like the "slow resilience" ILdoll foam, where if you push the silicon in it does not bounce back instantly?

And since you mentioned the EVO is firmer the the DS-163, how does it compare in softness to the Gynoid and XYcolo platinum silicon (your 170 unboxing). I assume it's softer than XXYcolo's organic silicon since your 163A unboxing noted it was the firmest silicon in years.

That depends a bit on the head you are using. With the biggest head I have at hand and some goodwill when measuring, she is 165 cm. There are probably longer heads and the smaller heads from the 145 line, so I guess the range is about 164-166 cm.

Dollstudio wrote:First thing worth mentioning is that she is shorter than advertised, similar like the regular DS-167. The specified body height without head is 150 cm; I'm getting something about 144 cm from heels to top of the neck, with some goodwill maybe 146 cm. A part of the neck goes into the head, so you can not simply add the specified head length of ~22 cm.
How much shorted is the height with head attached?

Dollstudio wrote:Hi,

after about two weeks it is time for a conclusion.

I ordered this doll to get a first hand experience about the new Evo features, and to figure out what all the fuzz about the S-class makeup is. The idea for this kind of (fully payed) samples is normally to take a closer look what's behind the advertising, make an unboxing review and take a couple of pictures, then offer the doll for for sale from stock with some discount.

Things turned out a bit different in this case. I will not let this doll go. Simply because it's the best doll I have ever had in my hands.

(Almost) everything about the DS-167 Evo is just right, from the exquisit sculpt over the excellent skeleton to haptics. Manufacturing quality is through the roof, and there are no flaws ex factory, just self-inflicted scratches I am responsible for. The DS-167 Evo directly competes with high-end models which easy cost twice as much or more. This - the steep price tag and the more delicate skin surface which requires (much) more careful handling - are among the few weak spots.

There are only three disadvantages I came across, and their weighting highly depends on what you expect from a doll. They might or might not be a disadvantage for you.

1) The first one is that head and body are made of different silicones, resulting in a different haptic. The firmer head might be considered a disadvantage if you expect your doll to have soft kissable lips. S-class makeup comes with a firmer silicone blend, feels more like a 'real' head with a skull, but the lips are not soft. I think for oral heads like Penny the S-class makeup is a no-go. However, for my use case it has only advantages. For touching it feels better, and for photography it is less shiny and just looks better.

2) The built-in vagina is detailed and beautiful to look at. It is an aesthetic pleasure with a high degree of realism. Though the lady parts are approximately sized like the R type insert for the regular DS-167 which is much tighter than what I would enjoy. So this doll will remain a virgin.

3) The lack of standing capability is the only issue which is really bugging me. For my use case that being bed-ridden is the only real disadvantage of this doll. When I reviewed the Sanhui SH-165 mk.2 with textured skin a couple of years ago, my verdict was that textured skin is such a huge advantage that I would not buy another doll for myself without textured skin. The Evo has textured skin, and I am raising the bar for my next doll to be purchased: She will need to be able to stand on her own feet.

Last but not least another shot for the clothing section:

This lingerie is from a Chinese brand called Varsababy, color (dark) blue, cup size 75C (type V014LF-34C-blue). Fits nicely.

So Thera, welcome to the family ;-)

I agree that having such delicate silicone can be a disadvantage which is why I asked before in a different thread if DS would be willing to manufacture an entire body with the harder silicone blend. I would absolutely be even more interested if that were the case.
