Greta: DS 167 with 'Serena' head

Greta is a DS 167 with the 'Serena' head, to which I added some face powder of various colors and some pencil shading in the face lines to make them more noticeable.

As others have mentioned, the DS 167 is light in weight for its size, but is somewhat mannequin-like because, just under the soft exterior, you can feel the hard foam cores. Its silicone rubber has the slightly ‘plastic’ feel of Orient Industry dolls, from which the basics design of DS dolls is clearly copied. By ‘plastic’ feel, I mean it is softer (softer than my OI doll) but, when you press it and let go, it recovers its original contours in slow motion, unlike, say, a Realdoll’s silicone. Having said that, this doll’s fairly large breasts are well soft and squeezable, as are her buttocks. The silicone also seems to me more translucent than the silicone of other manufacturers (just an impression). All dolls are different and they all have advantages and disadvantages. So far, I rate this doll highly overall (but she has only been here three days).

However, my main reason for buying a DS doll was to obtain the exquisite Serena head; one of two made by DS of older women. (I already have two ‘older’ dolls; one made by Anatomical Doll and one made by Sinthetics.)

The through-head hang gizmo was not included (at least, I did not find it) so proper 'standing' poses will have to wait until I obtain one. (I have the neck hang kit, where you remove the head and attach a shackle to hang up the body to store it.) In these photos, most of her weight is taken by her elbows and forearms resting on the window sill. In addition, she is wearing thick socks inside her boots for protection.

I hope I still look that good when I'm her age! She's so beautiful and sexy! It must be the playful attitude that keeps her looking so good. :)

XOXO

You could be my mother Greta. :P

Tell me, is not too dangerous to stand on your feets ?
I'm afraid for my poor little cute own feets.
I confess, I'm a delicate rebel princess. :haha4:

You, my friend, are an artist.

And Greta, is a work of art.

Very lovely.

Oh Greta is exquisite as you have made her up!

Is she the lPink or the yellow? I wouldn't describe the lPink as being more translucent than others but perhaps the yellow is . . .

It's a pity however that either I haven't posted enough about DS dolls or that you didn't fire off a request for thoughts from me because I'd have advised you strongly to get that modification at the factory to enable a bolt to be put in her heel to take her weight for standing . . . .

Very sexy lady. Is Greta below 30kgs? From memory mine is a little above in an intermediate step to lower weight and this might mean a little more silicone and squishiness.

Perhaps the memory effect of the DS silicone can be a little like how real skin reacts to being squeezed . . . and I'm sure all will agree with you wholly on the realism of her breasts.

Best wishes and many congratulations and encouragement,

Harem

There's a million gals half her age who would kill to have a body like hers!

Her skin tone is 'cream' (between LPink and Yellow).

This is one of the new ones - sounds interesting.

For photography the 167 is an amazing doll. It's going to be wonderful to see what she can do in front of Everhard's lens.

Best wishes

Thanks guys (and dolls)!

The cream skin tone is fairly light, but a common color of people in Britain and natives of similar northern climates. I might have overdone the blusher, especially on her shoulders (looks like sunburn) but the camera has also magnified the color contrast -- except in the 'vintage' photo where I reduced the contrast deliberately to make it look faded.

Sandro sent me a through-head hanger, but I need to drill out its top hole a little for it to accommodate the S-shaped hook supplied with the neck hang kit. (The latter is for storage hanging up with the head taken off.) I work during the week and I do other things at weekends as well, but I have big plans for photos of Greta. (Mind you, I have lots of plans for photos of my other dolls too. Those plans are added to faster than I can get round to arranging the photos...)

I am impressed by this doll overall. She is different from all my other dolls. Well made, but differently made. (George of XS Dolls posted a video comparing a DS doll with a Sanhui equivalent, in which he points out some general characteristics of the basic DS design and build.) Having said that, a criticism I have is that the head rotates too easily and, unlike the Orient Industry head attachment, it has no stops. The result is that, in bed, her head rotates round to face backwards. My 4woods dolls have the same problem although the attachment is quite different.

I bought the wig and clothing to suit Greta as I imagined her. (She is based partly on a woman I knew, as are most of my dolls.) Samurai's photos of his DS 167 provided some ideas too. Haremlover's and others' posts and photos also helped greatly in selecting the DS 167 as the body for Greta; the 'Serena' head being one I have wanted for a long time, especially after seeing Stacy's photos of her Serena doll.

Depending on the weather and other factors, I hope to have more photos soon. However, it is November here in Britain, with short daylight to match. (Yes, I know it is November everywhere...)

The thing sticking up from the middle of her head is the through-head hang bracket. I did not realize it would be so noticeable, otherwise I would have removed it. (It unscrews easily.)

I never had enough concentration for chess, so Greta won.

Superb character photos!

Something possibly more unique to DS dolls than others is that it's really helpful to bring hair forward so as to disguise the neck-head joint line.

Best wishes
