And then Titjob, another user here gave me more info, and after a bit of back and forth with the maker of Valentina Girls, he's now willing to send one over at a very good "special" price in exchange for a diary style review.

Valentina Girls is a new company and while I am not particularly fond of the doll itself, I am impressed with what the company offers and their overall website layout. Right off the bat, you do get the impression they are going after a niche and that is the lone traveler. They tout a bendable, but durable skeleton that is seemingly difficult to damage even when folded in extreme positions. However, the overall look of the doll seems far from attractive to me. BUT, in your case you might have an advantage since you gauge by feel rather than sight. However, I am going to say that these bodies are NOT shaped like your current dolls. They are very obtuse and extreme dimensions. In my opinion, I think a Teddy Babe is shaplier and more accurate depiction of a a female body. However, as many would point out, Teddy Babes are very limited in construction. When I contacted Dave from the company, he flat out told me that body modifications cannot be done at this time. So I am guessing Teddy Babes bodies are outsourced and then they are shipped to the Teddy Babes factory in Pennsylvania and there they finish the doll off: Adding the facial elements as that is something they can customize. Adding the hair, pub hair, nipples, etc. All the extras, it seems they do after they get the general doll body. With Valentina, it is hard to say if they outsource or not, but given the degree of customization, it is leading me to believe that they might make the entire doll in house.

Supposedly they ARE very cheap. I saw some dolls on the VG site to be priced at $250 US. Definitely a huge bargain. Still $250 is $250 if you are willing to take the risk. If you got a better deal at less than $200, then I would say why not? Try it out and see. If it isn't your cup of tea, you can always sell it off.
There's two things I'll want to look into getting to mod a Valentina doll to my liking and maybe you can help me look on amazon.ca Because the material they use is more like fleece, my plan is to hunt down a full bodysuit, hopefully crotchless, to put over the doll so she'll feel more like Textile and Dagmar. Even if we can't find crotchless ones, a regular one of the right material might work (I'll just have to convert it to crotchless manually.)
FLEECE! That was the word I was looking for when I wanted to describe the skin on a Teddy Babe. Yes, it is a plush material that is smooth as silk. My sons have some stuffed plushies made from this material. I think you will like that. But I am going to say that it is best to get the doll first and you will see what I mean about the obtuse dimensions. You would obviously want a body stocking that would fit. However, I am going to go out on a limb here and perhaps you might be able to convince the fellow at Valentina Girls to build a more proportionate doll so this way your clothes would fit.

Understood. I was concerned about this as well when looking at the Teddy Babes. The fleece skin did have me worried, but then again. If the clothing I have fits, pantyhose on the legs and opera gloves on the arms would be the same feeling as when they are on Eryka, so that would work. It is hard to say if a full bodysuit would work on a Teddy Babe, but it looks like it might work.
Second, from everything I hear, the face is just not nice on Valentina Girls which, probably won't be as big a deal for me (if I could put up with a hard plastic head, I imagine I can put up with weird face... rofl) but for photo/diary puposes, I'm thinking an attractive facemask may be in order. Any idea?

No the face on the Valentina Girls are not really attractive at all. However, that mask that you showed me in that link is FAR from an improvement. However, now that you mention it, I did see an option in which you can get a Valentina Girl without stuffing in the head and the head material is pushed down inside the neck area. This allows someone to put another head on the body. However, there is no mounting point and the head is just...there! In the photos, it shows a head just sitting on the doll's shoulders and there is NO NECK! I would think that if some kind of mounting point could be made to simulate a neck and with an M16 thread, then you might be able to reuse Cammy's head on the doll. Granted the doll will never be able to stand with the weight of a head like that on it, but then again, the doll can't stand anyway. I don't know. Why don't you talk with the fellow at Valentina Girls and see what he might do for you. You could even say that you have a doll with a bad body and you would like to reuse the head on one of his VG bodies. Since he is a new vendor, he might jump at the idea of challenge.
Let me know if this sounds like a good idea to you and if you swing it by the guy. I think his name is Roger? I don't know, I saw his name briefly some place.
At any rate, if he does come up with a solution for you and he could make the body fill to closer dimensions to a real woman, please let me know. Then this may be a viable alternative for me as well.
