Update on availability of Doll Sweet

Hi,

the most impartant part at first: We will keep offering Doll Sweet.

However, we can not allow Doll Sweet to arrange shipping anymore.

For some background information please read this thread:

https://www.dollforum.com/forum/viewtop ... 43&t=86113

In a nutshell:
  • About a year ago, Doll Sweet started to ship with TNT to European destinations.
  • During the past year, multiple issues occured with TNT shipments, including severe shipping damages.
  • Doll Sweet has handled these issues poorly. They did not file shipping damage claims with TNT, and they did not compensate us for the losses. Last but not least they kept shipping with TNT, ignoring explicit requests not to ship with TNT.
For further details, please review the thread linked above.

So effective immediately, our shipments with Doll Sweet Dolls will not be handled by Doll Sweet anymore. A workaround has been installed for that. The dolls will still be ordered directly from Doll Sweet, but shipping will be handled through a trusted middleman.

Doll Sweet dolls purchased through us will not be handled by TNT anymore!

What will change?
  • Our last order with Doll Sweet took over two months from manufacturing to shipping. The workaround shipping method will not take longer. Ideally it will be a little bit faster.
  • Prices will not increase, even if there is more overhead - no other shipping company is as expensive as TNT. We will forward cost savings to you. Ideally the dolls will cost a little bit less.

Hey Sandro. How long does it take when Ordering Doll Sweet until one gets his doll?

@LeonBehrens: Doll Sweet's typical lead times to make a doll are 3-4 weeks. Realistically, add the same amount of time for clearing payment and shipping when working directly with DS. The messed up TNT shipment directly processed by DS took a total of about two months, including customs clearance, until the damaged doll arrived. The replacement will approximately take another month, at least if they ship the replacement with a capable carrier like DHL Express.

Our new workaround method could take 6 weeks total from order confirmation til delivery since one freightforwarding step is skipped, but that is a bit of guessing until we have gathered more empirical data.

If you order the DS together with a PQC, you need to add another overhead for processing (~2-3 weeks, if the doll passes the first PQC).

Hi,

most Doll Sweet dolls are now available with the EU Shipping Flatrate, so this method becomes the standard shipping method for EU customers from now on. That means that there are no extra shipping costs anymore, no matter if you are in Finland, Sweden or Italy.

For example, the DS-14x series (DS-145, DS-145 Minus and DS-145 Plus) costs now EUR 2370 including shipping and import fees.
The DS-145 Minus is available for delivery to most destinations except UK.
The quoted price is available for most EU destinations except Germany.

For DS, two variants of the EU Shipping Flatrate are available; the default route takes about 3 weeks for shipping and import procedures, and a faster one which takes about 1.5 weeks for shipping and import procedures, but costs a little bit more.

This is still a bit in flux, so there might be changes sooner or later. My (personal) guess is that these EU gateways will not remain open forever, so if you are in the EU and always wanted a DS, now would be a good time.
