Tpe wrist joints

Here are pics of a tpe doll skeleton.
I will start with the wrist as people can upgrade themselves.

The wrist on this one can be unscrewed from the forearm completly. So that is a good thing. I imagine the tubing in this one is similarly to those bearing wire wrists.

Haven't tried to remove them completely.
I will be back with other pics real soon.

Nice pictures of the skeleton and wrist, is this skeleton similar to YourDoll Viola 135 2015 version?? One of the wrist of my doll is completely hanging from the TPE. I will like to fix it if is possible. Thanks

Are the wrist joints designed to swivel at the palm plate? If the doll has it's arm straight out, can the palm plate be rotated from perpendicular to the floor to parallel to the floor? Hope that makes sense.

Thanks

I do not think they are meant to swivel at the wrist. This can become loose. It comes completely out.

If you have a wrist that has failed, press into the wrist area, if you feel a bulky mechanism then it is a properly jointed doll.

You can see the next photogragh the way the hand will rotate by a joint between the elbow and shoulder.

You can rote at the wrist though i do not believe you are meant to. Replacement of the hand portoion only would require an allen wrench a socket set and a dremmel for the little weld holding the wrist and the hand together.

Rotate wrist,
Hold at wrist above palm plate (see bolt), never palm plate. Hold just above elbow with other hand.
Rotation is at swivel joint below elbow. This is very similar to real arm.
Holding above your own wrist, hand will not turn much. samara78 corrects me when I am wrong.

Fantastic Plastic, you need samara78 for this. Your doll is now priceless!
Edit: Sorry, I have seen you share how you have changed her eyes. Her value should now be emence.

Oh you could order a new hand and wrist from the manufacturer and replace it. The whole hand assembly comes out out of there i used a dremmel to replace the wrists on a 100 cm riley doll. I imaginethe arm tube is the same no matter whether it has a joint in there or a wire cluster.. I had ato dremmel out a powdery substance from inside the tube. Wear gloves a dust mask and safety glasses when going in there.

If my wrist(s) fail I will most likely do a really ingenious and serious upgrade/fix to the original ones.
I don't even really know who the manufacturer is.
Besides, the chances to match the color is pretty sketch.
And I don't want her looking like the bride of Frankenstein.
I'll figure something out, it'll be cool.

Wow! great post Samara. With this skeleton you can help people to better visualize what you mean when talking repairs.

Hmm, didn't know it's not good for wrists to be rotated...thanks for the tip, I'll stop that right away

It is ok if they are somewhat loose. Just be aware of over rotation on the skin. You can take her arm above the wrist turn the wrist for another point of access.hold tight and rotate. I understand this was yl doll?
Wrist advice on rotation is only good on hinge based wrists.
The neck on this doll is not hinged either. Over all i am pleased with it

Match what if you cut it clean and use a good spanner and cotton you won't lose any material. Leaving it broken will cause material loss.
