Going to give away a free doll in 2017 to Doll Members. Wondering what the best way to do this, given that some of our clients are not on TDF it will be done on our own blog.

Thinking of having client posting on our blog and somehow randomly select one from the post to declare it as a winner. But the selection part will be hard as it need to show fairness. Any idea would be great.

Sounds like a great idea. How about a competition? Maybe involving dolls.

I have marketing experience, so my thoughts immediately go to: What are you trying to accomplish, specifically, with the giveaway?
*Is it to generate publicity for your company?
*Spur sales?
*Reward current customers?
*Build awareness of a particular type of doll?
*Generate traffic to your blog?
*All (or some) of the above?

Your instinct to give something away is very kind of you! But if you are looking to achieve a particular goal because of it, that might (and should) dictate your decision of how best to facilitate the giveaway.

Did you have any ideas in mind?

Hello,

If it is a new doll, you can make a "guess the weight" contest. The closest answer wins.

This should definitely be open to everyone, so no doll picture contests, this way even the doll-less like myself can enter the contest. in fact doll ownership should be taken into consideration, I'm sure there are members here who can quote the exact weight of a doll because they have been lucky enough to have a dozen or so in their lives.

Sorry (multiple) doll owners, just wanna make it fair for everyone lol <3

Yes there needs to be a goal in mind.

Consider a famous spoke person who would promote the doll lover lifestyle. A youtube star with millions of subscribers.

Hi PassionDolls,

There are contest software products out there.
Many have random selection, fraud protection,
and a laundry list of features.

No need to make this more difficult than it has to be.

If you want to limit to doll people on here and on private blog, create a private video on youtube that is accesable by link only, put that link on here and your blog. Have interested parties make a comment on video and use one of the free randomizers that are available and it will randomly select one of the comments, then post winner or contact them.

If you want to open to anyone including non forum/blog members, do same just make video public and searchable.

Maybe 10 good reasons to have a Doll but done with humour.. 'She never questions my motives at least when I'm looking' kind of thing...that would make good marketing material : )

Mainly:
*Reward current customers?

but

*Is it to generate publicity for your company?
*Spur sales?

would be nice

probably will start of with something small like a free head first to see how's it goes before giving away a free doll.

Giving away a head seems like a great way to test the waters.

Why not ask entrants to submit a current photo of their doll, the date they bought it from you, and one-sentence or one-paragraph summary of their PassionDolls experience which you can use on the blog and elsewhere. This gives you a stockpile of testimonials to use, along the lines of Yelp, Amazon, and other sites which spotlight customer feedback. (If you receive any negative comments, address their concerns immediately and fully.)

Offer a variety of heads for the winner to choose from, and show photos. This will effectively advertise your selection so that anyone, even those who do not win, know what they can buy from you. Offer a discount on heads and/or dolls (5% off, perhaps) to everyone who enters the contest. This will encourage submissions as well as purchases.

Announce the winner, and the specific head they chose. Ask the winner to send you pictures of their doll with the new head.

As a final step, offer everyone a special discount on that head for a limited time (For example, 10% off for 30 days from the day the winner is announced). Again this serves to advertise the head specifically and PassionDolls overall. Follow-up with all who entered, reminding them of the discount they earned and thanking them for their business.

Thoughts?
