Will the Titan bond allow her neck to still move?
I am not familiar with the doll in question. And I don't quite understand the question.

However, the threaded rod you show is rigid (i.e. it does not bend). The titan bond, applied to the threaded rod and inside of the tube, merely 'fixes' the two ends of the break together. It will not allow any bending at the break (obviously). But the normal movement of the neck and head at their joints should be unaffected so long as the tube does not interfere with them.

You would probably only need about 1" to 2" of tube (the longer the better) to fit over the threaded rod. Apply the titan bond to the inside of the tube and on the threaded rod, slide the tube over the threaded rod so it is centralised at the break, and allow it to set.
The tube does not have to be metal, so long as it is robust enough to take whatever forces it is subjected to.

To illustrate: In the photo, imagine the bolt is the lower part at the break of your threaded rod and the wooden dowel is the top part at the break of your threaded rod and the plastic tube is the tube you put over the threaded rod at the break & hopefully you will understand the principle of what I am talking about to 'join' or 'fix' the break. It is rigid. Any movement will take place according to whatever joints are at the opposite ends of the threaded rod.

Thanks for your continued help. :) There is a threaded bolt to allow the head to be screwed on but the effected area is a coil that bridges the bolt and shoulders. The area where the coil narrows is where the issue seems to be. Here is a picture of it bending.

From what I can tell, it acts a bit like a spine except that it is meant to hold whatever position it is place in, like you occasionally see in desk lamps. However, it offers almost no resistance so the neck bends until the head hits the shoulders. Judging from the photo, I think that some of the ligaments connecting the vertebrae have been blown out.

Ah, I see, it is like a flexible shower hose only more rigid. I thought it was a straight threaded rod.
My apologies.
The system I proposed would not be suitable or work at all for that system.
I am sorry to have wasted your time.

The posted photo and description given in response to your idea will give the many who view this post a better idea of what the issue is. I was afraid to ask, because I didn't want folks to get a sore stomach from laughing too hard.

You have wasted no one's time. :) I'm happy to gain whatever insight can be offered and it's good to see this thread still kicking.

Hi, BD. :) I'm always happy to email you and vice versa (it looks like we are averaging about an email a day, each, since the Miranda review) so your post is odd. No matter, there is not much that you don't know and I've never called for any intermediaries. I think the only thing new is the repair person that you suggested, but ~$200 after shipping is not something that I'm terribly excited about. It feels like we've gone from "fix it yourself" to "pay someone else to fix it." :P

Anyway, I am always happy to hear from you and keep this moving forward (I'm sure this is tiresome for us both) so please do email me with any new information you may have. :)

possibly an automotive hose clamp wide enough to secure both ends of spring? or maybe grafting on a heavy ga wire to span the broken area and securely clamping ends? just a thought...

Hi Bleakerbird,

They suggested that for me to do the same thing I said no thank you I lost enough and would prefer to fix her myself I have been asking for photos of her skeleton for weeks now hopefully I will hear from them soon.

Edit: They replied with a couple of photos I am waiting to find out if I can post them on here.

Thanks for the update, Boew. It's is remarkable how long this has carried on, but you've been at this for more than a month, and, yes, some photos would be interesting. A pity that the manufacturer doesn't have a working site as replacement parts would make life a great deal more easy. That being said, I suspect I held the manufacturer more responsible for this situation than they deserved, so I'm hesitant to send anymore bad will their way. :/ As I've been poking around, I haven't noticed similar complaints outside of BD's sub-forum so perhaps it isn't the design flaw I initially assumed it to be.

That is awful funny that you can't get on there web site now. With all of these new found problems with the dolls.

Yeah, it's worrisome, especially after I had trouble with their Dominique/Betty doll. However, I haven't found complaints about Reiko's necks elsewhere so I'm not sure that they are to blame. Boew's issue with the second body is *clearly* not an issue with the manufacturer.

Hopefully their website is just a hick-up, as the Chinese-language forums linked to earlier in this thread make it seem like they are still working on new doll models.

Ok I have another string going on but I thought this may help, the person I sold one of my dolls to which was Doll Doc seems to have a good solution and we could see more on that soon but here are a couple of photos BD sent they said it was ok to post.

Well, a tiny bit of progress is still progress. Glad to see no one is giving up.

Best luck, everyone!

We suggested you also that we can give you back all the money that you payed for those dolls even if they were used. They are worth much more even with their issues.
