Miranda: A newbie's review

Post by Bleakerbird »

Hello all. First off, I should point out that I am new to dolls so I suspect that I'll end up pointing out things that are obvious or weird. :) I've already put together a small collection consisting of Miranda, Celine, Candy, and Reiko and thought I'd make a few threads over the next two weeks or so to give my impressions of them, beautiful-dolls.com, and maybe get all the dolls together in one picture so other soon-to-be owners can get a sense for the different sizes. Miranda and Candy are the dolls I've had the most positive experience with so I'll start with them.

Pictures when I am able.

When first making my purchases, Miranda was the doll I had the least faith in. She is less expensive than comparable dolls and her small size raised concerns about her looking too young. To get it out of the way, her size has proven to be not a problem--her face, figure, and hairstyle trump her height.

As for her cost having a negative effect on the final product, I haven't seen any signs aside from what is (to the best of my understanding) to be expected from TPE. Her joints are firm but not overly stiff so she is easy to pose and will then hold said pose. She has a pleasing heft to her that I associate with a solid product, and with three entrances she is packs quite a punch for the money.

The only real issue I found was addressed in Karrot's excellent review. He identified an issue where the head would turn slightly on its own, and then suggesting adding a rubber grommet to her neck bolt. The solution worked perfectly and cost me pennies.

In terms of her appearance and functionality, Miranda has been a pleasure. It's hard to put a finger on it, but her face gives her a mature, almost “proper,” appearance while still giving her a slight playfulness. She is about as far away from what I picture when I think of “sex doll” which keeps the entire experience feeling fun rather than grimy. :P

Moving down past her well-defined collarbone, we find Miranda's attractive and perky mounds of fun. Larger and a bit more soft then Reiko's breasts, Miranda's girls are just short of a handful and cheerfully wiggle up and down when she plays the role of cowgirl.

Heading down further still and turning her around, we encounter Miranda's amazing ass. How two domes of TPE can demand to be grabbed and spanked is beyond me, but I and two others who have seen her always seem to end up with a hand on her rear. It has reached the point where Miranda doubles as an armrest and has lead to numerous jokes about how all furniture need to include firm bottoms in their design. Well, I say “joke” but I think we can all agree that it is more of a stroke of genius.

Moving down even further, we encounter the back of her knees. Realizing our mistake, we spin Miranda around and racing back upwards until we reach a pleasing bit of cleavage. Without an insert, the outward appearance of Miranda's vagina is simply a clean cleft between her labia majora. A peak inside reveals a cavernous abdomen which brings us straight to inserts (unless “cavernous” works for you, in which case take your time). I'm going to call the two inserts Miranda arrived with 'small' and 'medium', although let me be clear, gentlemen, that this only a judgment of the size of their respective entrances. ;) Despite their lack of any extra coloration, the inserts are actually pretty. I do, however, wish that they fit a bit more snugly so that the sleeve wasn't exposed.

Functionally speaking, the inserts know their business. I found that the labia minora act as an anchors which keep the insert in place so you shouldn't need to worry about the entrance wandering around or the insert making a quick escape into her abdominal cavity (I'm looking at you, Celine). There is enough texture inside to get the job done. My one real complaint, and this goes for Reiko and Celine as well, is the lack of a (preferably hard) clitoris. With breasts and a butt that are such fun to play with, it's a pity the manufacturers overlooked the pièce de résistance.

I should also mention that I have no opinion to offer when it comes to her anal and oral ports of harbor because I'm not interested in the clean-up required or using a condom. :P

Beyond that, she has a nice waist, petite feet with cute toes, and wired fingers that often look like the gnarled roots of an ancient tree. Hey, they can't all be winners. :) I also have a pair of eyes on order since her current ones are half orbs that “float” on cotton balls which allows them to become sunken if she spends a moment or two or her belly. I'll update this thread once I have them.

Ultimately, I am elated with my purchase. I was braced for buyer's remorse but Miranda is an incredibly fun and solid doll and the fact that she costs so little is incredible. I suspect that someone looking to buy their first doll without spending a fortune could not do better, and that enthusiasts with a pre-exsiting army of dolls will be happy to add Miranda to its ranks (put her in charge of smirking at things knowingly).

Considering the experience you already have with dolls, I find your review exceptional and valuable. Your writing appears skillfully done.

Having a love doll just wasnt what i thought it would be.
I had in my mind it would be like living out some high school fantasy but that wasnt the case for me. She just looks so young i simply cannot go there seeing her as a sex object nor be turned on by it. The role play posing her for pics ect was cool the first week i had her but now she just lays under the bed all wrapped up and i dont see having that kind of money tied up in something i dont use.

Okay, you are not the only one that react like this with his first doll. I saw a lot of other members expecting to much and selling their doll after one month, sometime less. (When you buy a doll, its what you get, don't expect her to move or talk. She isn't a living women)

I understand the fact that you find her too small though. I almost bought a 125 cm too, but i changed my mine and got the 153 cm for that same reason.

Thanks for so many kind words. I am just shy of five posts so I should soon have a few photos up.

Sorry to hear about your experience, Doll_Bandit. Her face keeps me from seeing her as being young but unless the high school fantasy you mentioned was to have a rigid and inanimate woman, then I can certainly see why you would be disappointed. ;)

Samfaster2413, who did you end up going with, if I may ask? Partly out of concern over Miranda's height I bought a Celine as well, and I suspect that I may be a bit more warm towards Miranda's petite charms after having tried to move and position a 70 pound doll. I imagine that something like a Macy doll would be a good choice for someone looking for a doll that strikes a balance between the ease-of-use of a Miranda or Reiko, and the height of a heavier doll. Luna also seems like a strong alternative, although her cost seems less than ideal for someone who is looking to see if dolls are something that they would enjoy.

Bleakerbird, you might consider setting up an album, so you can have photos to link to. If you want to see what an album looks like, you can check the link in my signature, my dolls.

I purchased my 153cm doll before others were offered and before 1AM offered them. I'm considering the 145cm doll for my next but haven't ruled out the 125cm, Miranda.

Hey Bleakerbird, welcome to the forum! :glou: And thanks for the great review.

I was amused at your description of her facial expression. I agree, she would be in charge of smirking knowingly. Anxious to see your pictures.

Good call. I just registered so I'll start pumping out some photos soon.

I'm still unpacking and my place looks like hell (baby blue walls...) so the only photos I can take don't do any of the dolls justice. However, I understand their importance so I'll give it a go. Miranda has high quality eyes, longer lashes, and make-up on the way so her appearance has been a bit neglected. She basically spends her hours in Calvin Klein underwear, smiling up and the ceiling (at least until her eyes invariably begin to wander around of their own accord).

Awful TEST photo below. :P Miranda and Candy up front, I small bit of Celine on the left, and some part of broken Reiko in the distance.
