Good starting place for newbies?

Hi, I'm a complete newbie at this forum, and could not find a "General" subforum anywhere. I am thinking about buying one or more dolls, but I feel in over my head and would like to get some general suggestions before "investing". Is there a good subforum to go to for general talk about dolls and the experience of owning and/or buying them?

Sincerely,
Dennis.

Hi; welcome to the forum Dennis.

The Dolls in General section is where members can compare the relative merits of various dolls,
so this is a good place to start if you want general doll info.

For creative pictures of Dolls, I'd recommend the Eye Candy section.

If you're more interested in the members, and participating in posts and chats, you can visit
Open Forum.

You can always visit the various Vendor's forums for more specific information, once you've started
to limit your choices to what suits you.

If you're looking for a deal, or meaning to sell a doll or toy, check out the Sales on TDF and Wanted Items sections.

Hi Dennis,

I guess best is to determine how much you want to spend first. (if you want to save for another 6 months for a higher end doll or go for a less expensive one and buy her right away...)

"I bought a nice Jasmine and Macy, both at an affordable average of 1800usd..and great value!!"

Then check what space you have to keep her, check if you can carry her around easily,....
Then go through the available dolls and compare size, looks, materials, weight etc.
This will narrow down your search.
Then go to the relevant topics of your desired doll. And I am sure there will be someone on the TDF who has the same doll and will give you all info you need.

Good luck on your choice.
Cheers!

First, go to the forum where you want to make your post. You might first go to the index page to find the appropriate forum. Next, in that forum, click the New Topic button. It's on the left just above and below the list of threads.

There are a couple of "Newbie wanting advice" posts in http://www.dollforum.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=87 so perhaps this might be a good place to start.

Best wishes
