Noob Question
Noob Question
I've been considering buying a mannequin to convert (following some great ideas posted here) but one thing concerns me and that is the distance between
the upper thighs.. I mean physically there just dosn't seem enough room to allow a normal male to lie between (as it were) ... Do you guys adapt them in some way or is it all about the particular stance a mannequin has initially?

Re: Noob Question
Unfortunately, I'm not that familiar with the mannequins so I'll leave it up to the forum mannequin experts to answer your questions but best of luck in your search..

Re: Noob Question
There are very few standing type of mannequins out there that have a big enough leg spread to give room for a "natural" type of modification. My mannequin Sammie was one of the few I've found.
Sammie was modified mainly for realistic appearance and not for use, so if you're looking for maximum usability, I wouldn't recommend that method. I used a Doc Johnson pocket pussy on Sammie (McKenzie Lee) which looks very realistic installed, but these types of inserts don't work when encompassed by a support material (such as foam) because they can't expand like they do when held in the hand. If you are looking for usability, then the Fleshlight is really the best approach.
Are you looking for a mannequin for stand up sex or other positions?
The best mannequin that I have found so far for sex positions other than standing is this one...
http://www.roxydisplayinc.com/webpage/m ... e/fr7.html
To save a little money I purchased the white version of the same mannequin.
http://www.roxydisplayinc.com/webpage/m ... show9.html
She came with some damage and finish problems so I got her with an additional 40% discount. If you are looking for a quick and dirty modification, she would be easy to do with just a 2-1/2" diameter hole for the Fleshlight. Unfortunately, the one problem is that her right foot prevents her from being usable, so you either just need to remove her right calf and get used to the amputee look, or the knee would have to be modified to change the angle of her leg so that the foot is out of the way.
The upper picture shows leg installed in factory position, the lower pic shows the new leg angle and how the fleshlight would look installed. This mannequin is fun to play with in different positions - great at the edge of the bed on her back just like the photo, also good for doggy with her head and knees on the floor, sideways spooning, reverse cowgirl, lots of different positions. The leg joints are tight and have a unique locking feature that keeps them from coming loose when flipping her over or changing positions.
Still not the perfect mannequin, but pretty close.

Mistress,
Odd question to ask since you are posting in the mannequins sub-forum.
Was that an oversight, or are you just trolling?

An oversight. I usually browse the "Most Recent Posts (ALL)" forum, without bothering where people post. Only if I would start a new topic, I check first. Didn't know there was an mannequin forum, my badMannequinFan wrote:Mistress wrote:Welcome on the Doll forum.

Thanks a lot for the in-depth reply MF. I had thought the thigh seperation distance might be an issue if you intend missionary type activity.. At work today I was looking up ball an cup articulation joints, very interesting that, as it may be a good method of re-attaching any 'amputated' limbs.. If it worked it would also allow the legs to swivel through 90 o What I'm thinking is to cut diagonally from the crotch area following the line to the hip filling the leg cavity and trunk cavity with expanding foam, once that's set it should be a simple matter to attach socket at one end and ball at the other.. and re-attach limbs..MannequinFan wrote:Hi tef, and welcome to the forum!

Ideally, I want her to be able to stand as well as lie down and if this works it should be possible to have her bent over from the hips.. doggy fashion too..
I have done some prefab work in engineering so I'm not unduly worried, just, this is an unknown quantity and engineers hate the unknown lol..
The locking leg joints you mentioned are something I'll have to look into, there are ratchet type ball joints available ( those are the ones where there is 5 or 6 holding points which are reached through firm pressure, i.e stage 1 is 20 o angle stage 2 is 45 o and so on) unfortunately the nylon cogs wear out quickly .. and metal would be impractical..
Anyway, this is all out loud thinking really and there may be tons of unforeseen problems with the idea.. However the fleshlight is probably a must have and I shall be following the advice posted on this board pretty closely in that matter.. In the meantime I have (thanks to this board again) discovered tons of suitable German mannequins on Deutche Ebay.. all of which are tons cheaper/better than the UK stuff.. I've narrowed the list down to ten or so possibles all for around the 50E mark plus of course another £25 or so shipping .. Still bloody cheap...
I'll post here when the project gets underway..
Regards for now.

I never go to sub-forums either I always go to recent post's unless I'm looking for something specific... I pay no attention to what sub-forum the post is on.
In addition most people don't associate a mannequin with a love doll in the first place. That's because they aren't and why they have to be modified.
It was an understandable question in my book.

Here's a little video of a magnetic ball joint that I made for my mini mannequin project...

The cup was 3d printed.

Re: Noob Question
The only problem so far seems to be the arms, which have a tendency to come off very easily.. This is something I shall have to look at, perhaps utilizing part of MF's idea of magnetic joints..
In the meantime I'm prepping for the cuts wish me luck..

Hi tef, and thanks so much for the compliment!tef wrote:Sorry, forgot to ask MF where you can obtain the arm joints used in mannequins ? oh, and Kudos to him for the mammoth task in producing those 3d printed joints.. they are fantastic.. Having watched the video and read the posts he's made I am left in awe

Arm joints will vary greatly depending on the make of the mannequin. Are you talking about shoulder joints or elbow joints?
Here's one place where they sell the standard type arm connectors: http://www.displayimporter.com/products/MA-021.html
For my mannequin Fiona, I was thinking about something like this for a magnetic shoulder joint... I would probably 3d print a new upper arm section that would fit the 4" steel hemisphere better, and also a magnet cup to install in place of the existing shoulder joint.
Any chance of seeing some pics of your 2 MQs? I would also be nice to see some pics of your work in progress as well if possible.
Good luck on the cutting!
