A reminder to report posts that break the rules

Hi everyone,

TDF Management tries it's best to see rule violations quickly and deal with them appropriately, but sometimes, even the worst violations can slip by our noses.
That's why we would like to remind you all of the "Report this post" function.

It's that little exclamation mark icon you see on every post, to the right of the Quote button.

When you see a member making a rule violation, don't feel bad about reporting it, only Staff members can see those reports.
By reporting violations, the moderators will be notified and they'll handle the situation in a timely fashion, without compromising your identity.

If we work together, it will be better for everyone else.

I wouldn't report a Forum member if he ONLY broke The Forum rules.

Reporting rule violations does not mean that the member breaking the rules so will be beheaded on the spot, actually. Instead it might help to keep things from running downhill badly. After all the rules are there for some reason, and thats not to please the moderators.

One time I had an off day and made a rather blatant rule 3 violation, all what happened is that AlexKnight had some work by reminding me in quite friendly words that I have crossed the red line. First I was a bit upset by that, but after I cooled down I had to admit he was perfectly right, and I stayed withing the rules since then (or so I hope). I didn't find the opportunity to thank Alex for that, so I would like to do that now: Thanks Alex for keeping me in line!

On the other hand I remember a time where the forum rules were not watched and several threads ran out of line completely. As a result quite a lot of members had to be banned to keep the forum from falling apart. Not a nice experience.

So reporting rule violations early is not a bad thing in my opinion, it helps to catch things before they really go nasty.

Tchon, thanks for that post of yours.

LBW, Tchon nailed it. If you see someone robbing your neighbor's house it would not be good manners (even criminal in some places) IF you did not report it.

However, much of this is directed at getting memebrs who have been demeaned, or defamed, etc. by another member to report the offense. The can first send a PM to the offender asking them to remove it, but SHOULD NOT escalate the hostility by posting publicly. Two wrongs don't make a right, and in that case BOTH members could be cited for breaking the rules.

You shoot my doll....I shoot yours... We both get cited :)

ffffffeeeeeeeeeeshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhooooooo
I thought I was in truble.

I dont like nore want to become the police. that is the admins jobs. not the members.
also I have the right to take the 5th,

If a post is not about you or to you reporting it make you out to be asshole. and a rat.
I know its not worth geting in a fight, So if a post bother you just move on and dot say any thing or let the person that that post is out of place and move on. I dont think this idea of making everone a rat (cop) (or police ) is a good idea.

1800 rat on your members. and 1800 rat on a rat line just not helpfull. that is so Opera. here and her be a rat lines,

please trash this post.

Unless its its say a kiddy porn or something like that. not become a rat

If you need to bitch about something that happend to you ok if you feel you need help.
but to just come across apost and turn it in OMFG, that sucks

This thread was meant as a reminder that the function is available to you all.

Sometimes, we see threads, were members are begging for the thread to be trashed, because of things that are happening.
Those threads don't always stick out, and sometimes, the admins don't even notice it. We can't be everywhere at once, after all... we're only human.

So, instead of making posts, begging for the admins to trash a thread, or even worse, turn it into a flame war yourself, make a report on the post that bothers you. That way, the moderators' attention will be called upon it. I wouldn't say, it's ratting someone out... it's merely asking for a moderator to take care of the situation.

Itsme, wouldn't you call the police, if you saw some people hitting and kicking a person on the street? Would you just walk away, and think, I'm not a rat...

OMG my neighbor's house is not my business. and I but he will not call the cops to my house.

Is you have the balls to be a cop caller get the f up and take charge yousleff and do something
case in point a old guy shot and killed someone robing his friends house. Good job. becomming a scared rabet and hiding with you finger on the 911. is silly. I tell you you could rob the bank I am in and as long as you dont harm me or take my money you are a invesable person even if I have your photo in my phone I would never have seen you.

I am was to do something I would do it, if I deside that its not for me to do I leave it alone.

I am saying if you want something done do it, if you see a post that look wrong say something in a post. just to hide and hit 911.
Just dont get it and never will.

HA AlexKnight

your post came up as I was reposting. I did not see it

I do understand where you all are coming from you all need help.
I just dont like the big brother small brother everyone rat on eatcherother idea.

Its great its there for the guy that likes that kind of life.
I am sure you will find you will get a lot of miny addmins this way.

And that's how flame wars start, Itsme... When members jump in to assist the one who's being attacked, often using strong language... and in the end, all of you will be punished for it.

Just like in the streets... if people join a fight, and the cops show up, they all go to jail... often with lots of protest, and how bad the cops are, for arresting an innocent person... but like Bianca said, two wrongs don't make a right.

I know you guys add this to help ceep the forum safe or clean. I think that ok.

But IMO this in not the streets and no one will get harmed (boadly) from some words.
a fight in the street if my friends are involved I sure will be there. I do and will always fight for my rights.

I am not fighting here for you to not make the rat button I am just voicing my option (right or wrong) its just how i think.

I smoke, i have guns, and ammo, I like sex dolls. Its my right to. I ask people respecet my right, So I sure will respeced the doll forum rights.

Now If the anty gun , anty tabako, and sex police would understand other people rights we would all be ok.

I think the new forum is alot more open than befor. and there are alot af great things you all have done.
I also like that you guys talk to us about what we like and dont like. this post proves that point.
Dont meen you will chang any thing for what I said or some other but you all listen 100x
