Problem with the doll album - RESOLVED & TBD

Hi logged in as normal and i cannot view the doll album ??????

Any ideas

As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with the Doll Album.

I'm not aware of any problems with the Doll Album. Can you please be more specific about the issue? Do you receive any error messages?

But it is still the same

I am logged in at the forum

and when i click on the Doll Album i get a warning page

saying i must join the forum to view the album

Tee,

You mean the splash page with the awesome photo by Stacy? You don't need a Doll Album account to view the pictures, although you can register for one. Doll Album accounts are separate from your forum account. You should just be able to click "Enter the Doll Album" or similar and start oogling hot dolls. I do it all the time. It's bad for productivity.

Oh! I'm dense. You should see a big image. Just click on it. I guess someone decided to change the entrance page.

We really should put text links back for accessibility reasons, goodness. I'll chat with the webmaster and Doll Album admin about that.

There are several roads that lead to Rome, as they say here...

True, the right click function no longer works, but if you want to get the link to the picture, there's a manual way of doing it.

Just use this format:

http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/albums/userpics/*usernumber*/normal_*filename*

To get the usernumber, you need to go into a User Gallery, and you'll see the number you need in the Address Bar at the top of the browser.

For example, my own gallery is: http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/index.php?cat=10332

That makes my usernumber: 10332

To see the filename, you need to go to the page with the picture you want to link to, or save, and at the bottom, under File Information, you'll see Filename:

For example, one of my pictures is called "Halloween_DCE.jpg"

When I complete the format, that would create http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/al ... en_DCE.jpg

And as you can see, when you click on it, you'll just get the picture, which can be saved, and linked to.

Why have you disabled the right click function? Of course we can proceed as you say, but why putting such complications, when you can use a simplier and faster function especially created for this??? I'm a little puzzled by your choices and your logic...

That was a little mistake in the language barrier I guess.

The right click function itself wasn't disabled, you can still right click on the pictures, and save it's location.
But that won't give you the link to the picture, but only to an overlay.

But it's not a mistake due to the language barrier, it's just that I don't understand the goal? What is this "overlay" exactly? And what is it made for???

I have tried in vain to down load a few pics from recent pages on the album as well and received this "overlay"...I wish it had been left as it was.
I tried to get at the pics via the albums and could not. I give up. These were pics I wanted to add to our site.

There are websites, who have been stealing pictures from the Doll Album, just so they can put their own watermark in them.

They don't give any credits to those who have gone through the trouble of creating these pictures.

The quickest way to get pics, is to right-click, and save them. Now, all they get is an overlay gif.
Normally, when people have to go through several steps to get a picture, they'll give up.

Toonist, just send me a PM with the pictures you want. You can copy the location at the bottom of each picture. I'll send the picture links back to you, so you can save them.
