I need your help naming my new doll
I need your help naming my new doll
My Valentina Girl arrived yesterday and I need your help in naming her.
.
Since her body was made in Sweden, I think it would be nice to give her a Scandinavian name. It would also be nice if the name also somewhat reflects her looks.
. . .
Note: I already have dolls named Hanna, Rachel, Molly, and Brandi so those are out.
.
Some names I have been considering:
Annelie
Astrid
Carianne - "pure"
Carina - "Beloved; Pure"
Eira - “merciful.”
Elin - “sunray.”
Estrid - "Beautiful goddess"
Kiersten - “anointed.”
Kirci - "A blossom of a cereal herb amaranth"
Laila
Lynnea - "Flower"
Roselen - "she who has the beauty of roses."
Tyra - "thunder goddess"
.

You are probably right, but it doesn't hurt to get other people's opinions like they might say, "She looks like a __name__."danebramage wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 5:52 pm This is something you should decide, spend time with her and it will come to you,i believe subconsciously its already there.

"Origin of Nalle:
The name Nalle has its origins in Finnish and translates to ‘teddy bear’ this connection to a cuddly childhood toy lends a sense of warmth and friendliness to the name Nalle."
She looks great by the way.

She is like a giant teddy bear. Being a plushie, she feels very nice when hugged tightly.Mr Franz wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 6:07 pm Given her plush nature, how about, Nalle?

Great suggestion in that the name kind of describes her characteristics.

"Imagine a Carianne, with her warm smile and kind heart, spreading love and joy wherever she goes. She has a natural ability to make others feel cherished and valued, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encounters. Her presence alone brings a sense of calm and tranquility, as if she carries an aura of grace with her."

Re: I need your help naming my new doll
I still haven't decided what to name my new plushie/PVC hybrid. I have gotten a few really good suggestions and they are under consideration. But I don't want to be in big rush either and have to change her name in a week or two. So, I am giving it another few days.
I am also thinking that since she is mostly Swedish (Valentina Girls Catalina body) but part Chinese (PVC head), she can be considered Eurasian. So I am thinking a nice Eurasian name might also be appropriate. Maybe even a clever hyphenated name. I know there are a lot of intelligent people on TDF. That's why I am asking here.

Can't explain why, but she looks an easy "Inge" to me...Pexter wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 5:33 pm .

Perhaps the reverse would work here. Name her after a fictional characters that you like.
I also think Mr Franz has a wonderful suggestion.

Re: I need your help naming my new doll
Read the post you quoted, titjob. Pexter states, the body is from Sweden, but the PVC head is from China. Therefore, he's considering a Eurasian name, perhaps even a clever hyphenated name.... Nalle refers to teddy bear in Finnish and Chen refers to Dawn or Morning in Chinesetitjob wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 3:18 pmsorry FRanzMr Franz wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 3:08 pmNalle-Chen (would translate something like, morning bear)Pexter wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 2:23 pm I am also thinking that since she is mostly Swedish (Valentina Girls Catalina body) but part Chinese (PVC head), she can be considered Eurasian.
