A very nice stand and GOOD THINKING!
I know some of those hardware store hooks and eyes can be rather week.
I've found that outdoor sporting good stores are a great place to find climbing grade caribeners and clamps are another place to check out.

In the process of building a stand, going of the same specs that were listed here at the beginning, But I decided to cover mine with a pillow of sorts ... instead of the hard wood. I have yet to put the piping on it yet . Also had to narrow it from 24" to 21". The wheels on the bottom are taped because I thought I was going to use a 3M adhesive spray but ended up not using. Hopefully I will have the piping painted and installed in a couple weeks after the holidayz. piping will be painted blackImage

Kamaro,That is a great idea to add a cushion to the base. This will protect the most vulnerable part(for me anyway)of the doll. The bottom of her feet. I have the same exact stand that I will be incorporating this idea into. Thanks alot man

Thanks for the Great plans! Just completed doll stand at a cost of $85.54 for materials. paint. etc. Made one "tune up" from the original plans. I used a 1/2" threaded gate hinge in place of the hook. (Personally I was afraid of impailing her head on a hook) Here are some pics... thanks to all the previous post-ers for thier great ideas!

Is this style good for a Mechadoll? They have a weird head bracket.
