I've been meaning to do this for awhile...

Arachne might be my favorite doll, but there's a lot of fun to be had with little ladies as well! Arachne's story will continue in her thread and any stories with the clan that are applicable to that story will continue to be posted to that thread, but my miniatures are their own people too! Posts here will mainly be about the elven clan living in my basement since most of my minis are elves but as you can see I have a few others as well. Some stories will happen here as I explore the characters, but sometimes it will just be photos. I have a bit of a backlog since I haven't had a place to share these so we'll trickle them in here for the next while.

Let's meet the ladies!
Starting left to right:

Cass Kitt
A Monster High Skelita doll. I really like the design of this doll and was jealous of ShadowFun's! She's more eye candy for around the house, but who knows when I'll find a use for her? She has been known to frequent local graveyards.

Rosebud
Quite obviously heavily inspired by ShadowFun's Cedar! This little nymph has been spotted in the wilderness across western Canada. She is the physical embodiment of cute!

Bastet
This embodiment of the ancient Egyptian goddess is a servant of Arachne and an enemy of the clan.

Helena
She hasn't appeared in any stories yet, but I have plans for her! Probably evil and refuses to clean up the burn marks in my garage.

Angelica
She has appeared on the site before but has since been renamed and has not been reintroduced. Someday I'll finish her outfit and do that...

The True North Clan
A clan of elves located in Canada.

Aneka
A skilled archer, Aneka is attuned to nature and quite capable of surviving on her own for long periods.

Saffee
The first member of the clan to step foot in my house. She survived capture by Arachne's spiders for several months and was recently freed.

Evey
A brave elf who found herself alone for awhile after Saffee was captured and heroically tried to save her before reinforcements arrived.

Glissa
A skilled warrior, Glissa is known for her considerable strength. Unfortunately, for some reason she is incapable of wielding any magic.

Aldrea
A recent arrival! She hasn't been officially introduced yet, but that will hopefully happen soon. Not a lot of photos of her yet.

These are all of my currently 'active' dolls. There are multiple HS that are still awaiting bodies and personalities but that will come in time. If you're interested in knowing more about the True North Clan's adventures the best place for that right now is Arachne's story thread which can be found in my signature.

Usually these ladies are a little more well behaved!

The prompt for this photoshoot was "Cute". No one does cute quite like Rosebud! Being that it is winter here and this challenge was on a weekday, the only way I was going to find Rosebud in the forest and have the light to actually take a picture of her was to run out at lunch and hope I got lucky. I was able to locate her in an old stump and I shared a piece of my cinnamon raisin bagel with her, which she quite enjoyed! Interestingly, she didn't seem to leave any footprints in the fresh skiff of snow... Too light, or nymph magic? You decide!

The prompt for this photo was "Food." I was out at my parent's place to photograph this month's Cat E and found this lovely pack of meat in the fridge. "Saffee! No! You can't have that! Get out of there! ...Unless you know of a way to sneak it out of here without being seen... I'll keep quiet if I can have a piece!"

Thanks buddy! Honestly, I find this whole site a lot of fun! I've been spending a lot of time in the mini forum recently, although that's partially because some of the threads here are just so damn long!

Today's photo prompt was "Nude." Through the challenge that this comes from I was trying to use Arachne for as many of the photos as possible, but Arachne doesn't pose nude (well, at least not for you guys!

). My minis, however, don't seem to mind it.

It's really cold here!

“I did not expect to have to deal with such cold temperatures inside this house!” commented Aneka as she inspected the severity of the situation. The basement in which the clan lived was the coldest they’d seen since their arrival. The frost was a clear indication of just how bad it was.

Glissa and Evey came to join her.

“That is quite a thick layer of frost! Brr. We should close this curtain again. I can feel the draft!” replied Evey, touching the frost herself.

Glissa walked over to the door frame and put her face to it.

Rosebud's Gift
Part 1

For once I think I found Rosebud before she found me. The poor little nymph looked bored.

“Hey Rosebud! It’s good to see you!”

“It’s about time! I haven’t seen you in forever!”

“I’m sorry, it was just too cold! I did worry about you during all that. It’s a lot warmer today and you do seem fine.”

“Aw, that’s sweet of you, but of course I’m fine! Us nymphs are tough! Tougher than you! Ha ha! We survive any winter! I did cuddle up with some of my forest friends to help keep them warm. Foxes, so soft! Squirrels, very fuzzy! Their bushy tails tickle my nose!”

“Rosebud, I-” Then she was gone, no more than a giggle on the wind.

“Help me, oh, help me!” I could hear her elsewhere, her melodramatic tone filled with fun. She liked to be chased so off I went to find her.

“What is this, quicksnow?” I laughed as I watched her ‘struggle’ in the white powder.

“Okay, fine. I don’t want to leave a damsel in distress. Reach for me! I’ll get you!” She reached and I reached, but as soon as my skin brushed hers she vanished again with a giggle leaving a little hole in the snow.

I didn’t have to go far to find her again. “Hey! I know this place! This is where we first spoke. The rose bush, Rosebud. Oh, you’re not sad, are you?” It would be several months before the roses bloomed again.

“Of course not! It’s the cycle of the seasons. They'll bloom again! The place holds meaning for us. Take my picture here!” Who was I to argue with that? As soon as I did, she was off again. At least she gave me a hint this time. “Chickadee!”

I found her around the front of the house at the bird feeders with some feathered friends.

Of course, the little birds didn’t mind the presence of this sentient representation of nature. “Ha ha! Hey little guy! Come here!”

She gave the little bird a gentle pat on the head before it flitted off into the trees, faster than my shutter!

“Apple tree!” she interrupted.
