Dying my TPE doll a darker shade?

I received a dark tone skin doll but I’d prefer it to be darker. I was wondering if there’s a way/technique to do dye them darker?

I know with leatherwork I can use a sponge to spread the dye, then wipe off the excess. I imagine with TPE it would be hard to get consistency.
