I had a quick look and the price really varies depending on where you live. Looked like between $75 and $100 a month in a lot of places. I didn't see any listing at $30 a month.
And it's even worse when you're on a minimum wage job. How many hours work are you doing just to pay the cost of renting a storage locker? Blowing money on frivolous stuff like this is a real reason why people struggle to pay for actual important things. I stand by my comment, the OP shouldn't be essentially throwing money away that he could be saving and putting towards moving into his own place.
As for giving life advice, isn't telling someone to rent a storage locker and bang their doll in it just that?
