Re: YL Dolls Bella Head
Looking at the images you use mostly wigs that somehow cover her ears - at least in this thread Would you be interested in a "completely" human version too?
I'm asking since back then when I had the Kyra head made I also thought about paying for a modification of this head type.
Re: YL Dolls Bella Head
I agree. The Bella head is my favorite head sculpts out there.
As most of the wigs look better covering the ears, I still love elf ears.
I know not everyone has elfophillia like myself, and YL Dolls could sell more of these heads if they had an option for regular ears.
HINT. HINT... YL, this might be worth trying.
In looking at the ears, it could be done without too much effort. (meaning, the ears could be trimmed and reshaped with a minimum amount of experience with tpe shaping. Instead of total ear transplants)
I know of someone with a great deal of experience with tpe repairs and also ear shaping. I ask them if you want.

Re: YL Dolls Bella Head
I have a couple of elf heads that are getting ready for conversion, this is how I plan to fix them.
Hopefully it can help. Basically it is just to treat it as cosmetic or reconstructive surgery.
Lay out the general final shape of the ear, trim the flesh to the helix, then bend it down and blend it back to the new ear structure.
Much easier than just trimming the ear and having to build up and blend in the helix area.
Before you bend and blend the helix, you can easily adjust any of the inner areas.
Ear Trim Steps The target is a simplified ear that is common in most dolls.
Typical Doll Ear It is interesting that a typical doll ear closely matches the diagram illustration.
External Ear Components Also since human ears come in various shapes and definition, if the final sculpt is reasonable it should be fine.
Just as long as you have smoothed it and insured the parts are well bonded.
Human Ear Samples Hope it helps.
Cheers!

If I did try this, it would be on one of my SM elf heads. I absolutely love T'ai's elf ears.
But this is good information all the same. I do plan on trying this on the other elf head later on.
But currently someone keeps demanding attention

Curious, what do you use for lip gloss? Everything I have tried either absorbs/ evaporates too quickly or sits on top of the TPE without drying and just makes a mess.
Geez Wheezer... I need more coffee. I'm good with ear, earlobe, ear hole.

It's called L.A. Colors lip duo. Not sure if you're in the states, but I've been going to Dollar Tree for some killer finds.
It drips off after awhile, but it looks the best. Also found eyelashes, nails and other stuff like that. As each is for a dollar, you can't go wrong.
Oh, and her Lolita sunglasses were from there also.
So I just checked out your thread. Love the deck of card idea. Brought back a memory.
As a kid, I remember someone having a naughty deck of cards.
He also had one of those pens with a pinup girl on it and when you turn upside down, her bathing suit comes off.
Good times...

I have a local dollar store, maybe I'll see if they have it. Probably have to drive a bit to find an actual Dollar Tree. Might be worth it though, big pumped up lips with no gloss is sad.MX-V wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 10:52 am Thank you Sete,

Haha... the things we come across as kids. Finding my uncle's Juggs collection was a sign of things to come, clearly.

Re: YL Dolls Bella Head
I might try Mod Podge for the hell of it.
Re: YL Dolls Bella Head
Modge is great, it does dry clear, but a bit cloudy.
Layered you can make peel off clothing. More on that later.
Using it to attach the cloth eyebrows I made.
Mohair trimmed, a bit of modge to attach and they stay on well and can be moved to change expressions.

Peel off clothing... I'm tuned in!
Re: YL Dolls Bella Head
Around 3 layers of Modge Podge then acrylic paint. Dried overnight then peeled off. This is shown put back on. I would say more layers of modge will make it easier to peel off. Also, might reduce wrinkles. The modge shouldn't stick together after drying, if it does, use some talc or corn starch on it.
T'ai is soft tpe, so firmer might help also.
