Today with all the AI engines you could make an AR experience that brings your actual doll to life. Facial movement, voice, maybe even walking and doing stuff. The app would hide the real life doll sitting next to you from your view when she "stands up" and goes somewhere for ultimate UX.

I had the same idea, but I think it's much better with AR lenses (holo, apple, or probably a cheaper one) so we can turn into life our doll.
I'm a developer too, maybe we can start a team to make this real?

The Apple Vision Pro cannot come soon enough, the leap in tech in that will definitely allow for a proper experience of animating the dolls. Will be great to see a high class experience of facial movement and voice coming from the doll, will definitely up the realism.

You could technically get some vr trackers like the VIVE trackers, attach them to the limbs of the doll and link them to the respective limbs in Virt-A-Mate.
Haven't tried it since I don't have a doll or the trackers yet. Maybe someone else who's got both could try it.
I'd Imagine the straps from the trackers could damage the doll though.
