Not sure if we have many fans of the classic 1995 movie 'Clueless' here, but the outfits are kind-of inspired by that seminal movie.

Personally, I think Mystique and Jennifer look a lot better in their outfits than the movie stars

Mystique does actually have the hat, but it's so big for her little head that it could be a helmet. Here she is with the hat filled with polystyrene, on top of her head.
