Here I thought everything was pretty great at Castle Oscar, what with my new low-stress lifestyle and those very relaxing afternoon naps Amber and I have been taking.

But it turns out that maybe it isn't as awesome as I thought...

I didn't have the heart to tell her they were knockoffs. Even as much as I love Amber, for a pair of pumps she's probably not going to wear all that often a thousand dollars was more than I could part with.

But even knockoff Louboutins were more than enough to satisfy my girl.

Like I said, those Christian Louboutin heels sitting in Amber's closet weren't real Louboutins. They were knockoffs.

I didn't really expect that I'd fool Amber. You're talking about a serious fashionista, this girl. What I was hoping was that the thought would count.

If you'll remember, the one regret Amber expressed when we were walking out of El Tiburon's place in Monterrey was that they'd given her a pair of Louboutins and they wouldn't let her keep them when she left. I figured that getting a replacement pair would be a nice little motivator to get her excited about geting dressed up and looking hot again.

And, well, here's how that went. She grabbed up those shoes and hustled into the bedroom and shut the door. So I knocked, and I could hear "Just a minute!" from the other side.

And a minute later, she said "Come on in!" So I did.
