This is Bubbles, an adorable 100cm 6YE.
Bubbles was murdered. Not by her loving owner, but by 6YE.

Bubbles was exquisitely made, full sized stainless bones, quality joints, nice joint wrapping, excellent welds. And she never had a chance.
6YE decided not to seal the ends of her vagina or her anus when she was being made. She was murdered, by her creator.

Water leaked into her back, rusting her back solid, it leaked down her pelvis and rusted her hips. The stress on her 15mm stainless steel pelvis from the frozen joints tore both sides of her pelvis loose from her spine.
Time for Reverend Jack to get to work.

Complete separation of both sides of the pelvis fron the spine. If you look below the break, in the TPE wall, you can see the impression of threads.

Let me turn the camera areund so you can see the smoking bullet, the hole the threaded rod left in her anus from the TPE casting. A pea sized blob of tpe paste, or a smear of xylene, or even an unsecured marble of TPE would have saved this little angel from being under my knife. It makes me very angry.

So exploring a bit, cutting the super tough fiber wrapping, we can expose the welded and rusted bolts.

Let's take a good look at that break...

So the pelvis is not square, it's an arch, and the welds are all solid, the SS pipe broke under the stress. So the normal spine fix is out.
Options:
1) pull the pelvis by unbolting the hips and pull the spine joint by unbolting the spine. When all 3 pieces are out I can weld it up, even reinforce it with a sistered piece of steel welded to the outside of the SS pipe.
2) bend an 8 inch soft steel rod to slip inside the pelvis pipes and through the pipe section the spinal bracket is welded to. Then secure that rod to the pelvis pipes and the spinal section.

Any other ideas before I commit to a course of action?

As an aside, the inner body cavity around the spine/pelvis connection was damp, so I followed the left pelvis down to the left hip joint, it was damp too. I eventually managed to expose the hip joint by pushing the leg back and up towards the body, slipping the thigh up the leg until the hip joint was exposed.
Not as easy as it sounds, the 6YE joint wrapping is tough as nails and completely adhered to the TPE surrounding it. The whole area was damp, and the hip joint is beginning to rust as well.

And to add more to my building fury at 6YE, while I was fussing and pushing on her legs, I noticed a red smear on her ankle. It looked like I cut myself and bled on her so I wiped it off. A small red dot remained on her ankle. So I inserted a syringe and after some rooting around managed to extract a cc of red rusty water from her ankle. Fuck Fuck Fuck.

Thought I could cut into her ankles and run air hoses, but the air won't go through.
So I left the cuts open and am trying to run air through her "opened area" to hopefully dry things out.
The SS Pipe you see is her left hip. Notice the shorter left thigh. I put black duct tape over the end so I don't cut myself on it.

At least this part of the doll is relatively short but will be a pain to complete this repair, with the drying and all

OK, so while I was waiting for a high end tempered Allen wrench to be delivered, I needed to dissolve some of the rust from the spine joint.
TIP: Spray some liquid wrench into one of your spare fingernail polish bottles. Then you can paint it exactly where you want it.
So I stuffed her open cavity with paper towels and painted liquid wrench in the nut and bolt heads.

Got the Dremmel out, and ground the tack welds off the nut and the bolt head, and pulled the spine joint out.

For those straining to see, the setup was bolt, bracket, two washers with polished sides to each other, then the spinal eye bolt, two washers, bracket, nut.
The inside of the joint was completely infiltrated with TPE while the bracket, bolt, and eye were rusted.
So now I have the two remaining sections of the pelvis pipe to unbolt from the hips.

Seagull, please pay attention, this is what you are waiting for, the "don't do this because I did and it's stupid" section.
Since I have this little dolls back open, and her pelvis is only 8 inches long, I decided that it would be easier and less destructive to push her hip up into the existing cavity and detach the hip there. I mean, after all her thigh is only a foot long, how much rebound pressure could it really build up. So leaning my thigh I to the bottom of her foot, pressing strongly while pulling the hip up and out with one hand, and with the other hand rotating the hip to expose the nut, with the other hand pulling the TPE open because the clamps wouldn't hold, while with the other hand I held the vacuum hose for the filings, and with my other hand gently dremmeled the weld off the nut at 30,000 rpm.
Seagull, this is where you ask, "why didn't you take a picture with your free hand?"
Sigh.
Keeping this post short(er), I got the weld ground off, and the nut off. HOWEVER, the TPE, under extreme compression pressure was difficult to contain and when it sprang free, tangled itself in the Dremmel. And maybe my finger. My clean surgical incision, so easy to repair when I am done, is a ragged mess. My surface repair skills will be put to the test on this one. I did get it off.

it was nut, washer, eye, washer, bracket, tack welded bolt head.
So I'm not doing that again.
I think I will go in through her vagina, she is an insert doll and I can put fingers on the bolt inside her there.
At least that's my plan tonight for tomorrow night.

One pelvic bone left. Learning my lesson, I'm going in through the cootchie. Good news is she is an insert doll, so there is more room and less to damage.

Nothing medical was helping keep the TPE out of harms way but grabbing the nut with vice grips was the solution. It also helped keep the Dremmel bit safe if it slipped or bounced.

When I pulled the pelvic bone from her TPE, the channel was damp. So a few swabs with a paper towel and she spends another night hooked up to the air pump.

With the whole thing out I'm going to have her welded up and reinforced. I think I will cut off the nuts welded on the vertebra (that were used to suspend the skeleton for molding, the ones the caused the water incursion) and weld a flat strip across the front and back of the arch.
Is that clear or do I need to draw a picture?

But stay tuned, I'm sure there will be more mistakes that everyone can learn from!

One note that should be at the top. Yes, I have a bunch of medical tools, and yes they are very useful and convenient. Wound spreaders and speculums and forceps are particularly useful.
Cutting instruments are a place I had to learn. Regardless of my experience with a scalpel, scalpels are damn near useless on TPE when compared to these little Fiskar titanium coated scissors. Holy of holy's I could not have done what I have done without them. So before you grab that butcher knife and start carving, go buy one of these little SOBs off of amazon or your local sewing store. Expensive? Sure. Worth it? Worth it at double the cost.
Now if the dollie is silicone, then I go back to the scalpel. You can use either in silicone but I prefer the scalpel.

And while I'm feeling all lessons-learned-y, this is what happens when you don't pay attention to where the 30,000 rpm rotating shaft of your Dremmel is.
ONE fucking second of taking my eye off the ball, just ONE FUCKING SECOND. Shaft of the bit touched the edge of the incision, which pulled my hand down and the doll up and then the collar and driveshaft hit the body and BAM, all this damage done. Looks like a TPE paste and hot spoon deal, IF i have a color match for the TPE. Sigh.

Brothers and sisters, today I found myself face to face with ONE OF THE SEVEN. Not sloth, not jealousy. Today I found myself eye to eye with GREED! Yes, GREED, and in the most unlikely of places, in the temple of the working man, in the welders shop. With dirty calloused hands and a willing heart the honest welder was beaten down by the suit and tie wearing embodiment of Greed! Greed had no place in this temple of honest work and sweat, but there he was, the new management, GREED IN THE FLESH. Two honest men used to exchange a handshake, a Jackson, and respect for a little help, but loe - GREED sayith NO, in my house you pay ME, and NOTHING for the working man. So cap in hand I left that evil place with a $130 estimate and Bubbles Broken hips.
Tonight I will pray for guidence.
