Re: Virtual Reality or Dolls?
haha...
yes...?
I've deleted all my VR porn, mostly to make space I didn't need to make.
But I don't view the dolls as taking the same role that it did...
(When tax season comes I'll buy a new large hard drive specifically for VR porn...)

Re: Virtual Reality or Dolls?
Vr is hell dead ... Only facebook zukerberg push it,
And pay people to push it, it's so draining to put a headset and configure your stuff for 30 min , just to fap , sexdoll is just 1000 x times more fun and REAL!
Are you really putting a headset on your head everytime you fap ... lol , Maybe fb z pay you to push vr everywhere...
Re: Virtual Reality or Dolls?
Personally I do have both. But they do not really compare to each other.
So if it is for a sexual experience. I can tell you that a doll will rock your world way more.
However, if you are not into long preparation and cleaning session ...and just to enjoy a sexy time within 10 minutes, than VR is better. I am a forum member at Virtamate as well and the community is quite fun too. It is fun to see what people are comming up to with scenes and models. VR is getting extremely advanced these days, cannot wait to see what they will deliver with version 2.
So: Doll will provide a more vivid and satifying experience at the cost of effort (preparation, maintenance, cleaning). But VR will offer a more variety and simplicity.
Both are really fun in my book. I do enjoy spending time exploring scenes and models in Virtamate. But I do enjoy playing with my dolls too. The experiences are completely different, but both are enjoyable.

While VR is more like going to an oxygen bar or Hookah bar... where puffing on flavored air, is the main event of the night.
Re: Virtual Reality or Dolls?
I have a non-VR headset that's basically a monitor on your face and it works just fine. It actually has much lower system requirements than true VR.
The technology exists and it's out there, but I'm sure there's some conservative voices putting a stop to it and a lot of other adult stuff. You can see it clearly in the rest of the adult industry where strip clubs often have to be outside of city limits, escorts are banned, etc. It's not like that in other countries.
There's several Japanese game websites that already have VR support. There's several masturbators that sync to videos. I'm sure dolls exist in other countries since it would just take some small sensors to pull it off. The problem is that people don't want it public.

Re: Virtual Reality or Dolls?
I mostly use VR for doing stuff like flying fighter jets, driving race cars and long-haul truck driving. (Can't pass a flight physical, nor a DOT physical.) Besides the VR headset I have about $1100 invested into high-end flight sim controllers and racing wheel sets.
My dolls are mostly for the illusion of companionship and as "actors" when I'm role-playing ideas for erotica stories I write.
There's really not much overlap in what I use them for, other than the fact I no longer play adult VR games, nor VR porn, because of the dolls.
Re: Virtual Reality or Dolls?
VR has the possibility of become more real than dolls, though. The technology is there. They could easily just use a real face as a texture on a 3D model and make full on porn simulation, but nobody's done it yet. The cross between the two, the visual and the physical, would be the best approach and I bet a real money maker. Imagine a porn simulation where real chicks do what you want and then you can feel them via a doll and they react to your touch. It wouldn't even be that difficult to do but nobody's done it.Hara-Surya wrote:VR and dolls have totally different purposes for me.

Using real photos and scanned faces on 3D models is like technology from 15 years ago. Everyone in the game industry does it. The FaceGen technology that was so panned for being in Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion has that functionality, even back then. There's even body texture toolkits based on photos that can be blended and merged to make unique skin textures based directly on photographs.randyb100 wrote:VR has the possibility of become more real than dolls, though. And there's plenty of VR porn simulators out there. I have one on Steam called VR Paradise which is a virtual strip club which uses photographed textures and scanned models. Virt-A-Mate is another, but it's more of a toolkit that can be used to create 3D VR porn games, as well as play ones that have been made for it. IIRC, it can grok DazStudio files, but I might be wrong. (I do know there is a 3D VR porn game with that ability that is not Virt-a-mate, but it's very, very early in development.) There's even one like Virt-A-Mate that specifically caters to people into Furries. And, the Japanese porn game Honey-Select has a VR mode.
The company that makes Fleshlights has a machine that will sync a male masturbation machine to cues in VR porn, assuming you use the right videos, in the right format in the right player. I'm completely unaware if it's possible to integrate it into any VR porn games. (I'm sure it's possible, but the question is whether anyone has done it.)
But, no, it would be extremely difficult to use something like a doll to simulate that. I've seen it mentioned here several times as possible, but human-sized robots capable of doing human-like things are decades away from being available to anyone but researchers with bottomless pockets. (Boston Dynamics has done some amazing things, but the US military looked into it and said "too rich for our blood" and backed out, which is saying something.)
Re: Virtual Reality or Dolls?
It really wouldn't be that expensive, though. Take the sensors from the Fleshlight and put them into a doll. There's cheap dolls already that respond to touch with moans. Just use a sensor equipped with Bluetooth and gyrometers/accelerometers like a phone and sync it to a game.Hara-Surya wrote:randyb100 wrote:Hara-Surya wrote: But, no, it would be extremely difficult to use something like a doll to simulate that. I've played a few of those games, especially Honey Select. I have VR Kanojo, a game from the same company (Illusion). That's what I mean, though. I've seen some hyper-realistic videos made in Unreal Engine but I can't find them. I found these, though:
