I just bought a used WM-172 with shrugging shoulders. It was in great condition, but it looks like the neck got damaged in shipping as the neck was bent 90 degrees to the side. I looked at some skeleton pics and it looks like at the top of the spine there is a joint that tilts side to side and on top of that is a joint that tilts from front to back. Anyway, it feels like the bottom joint is bent strait sideways towards her right shoulder. When you put the head on it comes out of the neck closer to her right shoulder and I can feel the 90 degree bend with my fingers when I probe deep in her neck.
Am I hosed? I tried pretty hard to put things back into place...well, back where I THINK they should be, but with no luck.
It’s not unusual for a neck to get bent over to the side during shipping. Are you trying to move the neck without the head? Sometimes you need the extra leverage from having the head in place.
Assuming it's a TPE doll with a detachable head, there is the possibility of getting a 3/8" inspection camera down to see what has happened to the skeleton

While this model is no longer available, there are similar ones, I'm just too lazy to look

Good luck!
This, exactly. Easier with the head. Give it a shove to get it started so you can get the head on there, then pull it over the rest of the way. You won't break the screw.
Also, why are we cool with this happening? Every doll comes like this. Wtf. They should just pack the goddamn dolls better... Why is there any room in a box for a doll to slide to the end and bend her neck? More styrofoam please!
