a question about a balloon and latex material

i have a question to anyone who would hopefully know for sure , my question is this i bought a white punch ball blow up balloon if i use this to test colors on for hopefully dyeing (coloring) the latex lady pink doll to a more natural skin color will it be about the same material ?? so i know that after finding a suitable dye by testing on the balloon that it will work the same on the doll ?? also just to mention it i am going to test a hair dye color on part of it, the balloon . (this stuff really stains stuff and stays once dried )
