Welcome to my Black and White Photography thread!

No stories... No dialogue... Just photos of the lovely dollies that grace my life.

This thread has two main purposes for me. The first is to explore the compelling eroticism of the female form, in all the ways I see it. Artistically, I've worked with a lot of nude models over the decades... but never with a camera. Why this road wasn't travelled is probably just my own fault... but my discovery of dolls about a year ago has opened a floodgate of unmet photographic desire... and a great need to express it.

The second purpose is to teach myself to see in grayscale. I've been shooting film for more than 40 years, almost all of it color slide film. While I've always found the artistry of black and white fascinating, it's creation has personally eluded me. Of course, digital cameras make it easy in our modern world, but I hope to create a proper wet chemical darkroom in my home in the next year. There's no "instant playback" cushion when shooting film with a 50 year old camera. It's my hope that the more I shoot digitally in grayscale, the more successful I'll be when I'm exposing a big piece of film...

I'll try to keep my comments, if any, on the technical parts of my photography in this thread. My Lovelies have graciously agreed to keep quiet here and let me do my thing... Please visit our other threads for their stories and any ongoing mischief, of which there always is... Ha!

Many of you who've seen my posts know how much I like Stereoscopic photography. I have film cameras that shoot this too. I hope to continue to refine my techniques in this arena as well. I've discussed stereo in multiple places on my other threads. If you have questions, feel free to pm me.

I'm a huge fan of the 1/2 frame film cameras Olympus produced in the 60's and have several I still shoot. This one still works too... but I'm just gonna let Inge play with it... Ha!

This thread looks like it’s going to be awesome. Big props for still shooting on film. I just got into photography because of my ladies. With the amount of pics I’ve deleted, I couldn’t imaging shooting on film. Looking forward to seeing where this thread goes.

Thanks Dees and Feck! I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun here.. Plus, it's remarkably freeing just taking photos and not making stories. Don't tell the Minxes!

I've been accused before of using my digital camera like a film camera, obsessing about a setup and then just taking one photo. If you ever want to try film, I'd highly recommend an Olympus Pen. Being a 1/2 frame camera, they get 72 photos on a roll of 35mm so there's plenty to waste!
