Neck Replacement: Part 2 - Skeleton Mount

Post by Average Joe »

Please see the pics in my part 1 post to help understand how it fits.
The gooseneck was pulled out of its lower socket, socket it welded to skeleton. This steel tube was machined to fit inside the gooseneck lower socket and M16 threaded rod was welded into the tube. I drilled the lower socket and my adapter to use a 8mm bolt. M16 threads come out of skeleton now so neck can be unscrewed when it needs to be fixed or I want to try a new design.
It was a late night so I just welded the ends to a piece of tube. Her head finally sits at normal level, not looking down! :D
