Doll head stands; buy or DIY?
Re: Doll head stands; buy or DIY?
OK, so I'm not perfect and I chipped the corner a little trying to clip off the excess. But still better than a raw edge
Not bad looking though. I gave the galvanized metal a light buff with some fine steel wool which brightened it up a little bit
I reiterate, I'm not perfect LOL
And of course the dumb felt ended up sticking to the head bolt Argh !!

I'll have to see if I can find a cheap punching set thingy at one of the local harbor freight/chinese tools type stores.
I'm all about buying the right tool for the job, even if I end up using it once. Hence my cluttered garage LOL

To answer the OP's original question, the bolt that is commonly used for heads is M16 x 2.0mm pitch (course thread).
I just made a little 3d printed base that holds an M16 bolt.
With a short bolt (60mm) it works fine free standing for simple head storage. With longer bolt it would need to be screwed to a base. Adapter for SM dolls...
