My latest order with DS

Well I wish there was good news to report, but these are trying times.
Order placed and down payment made Oct 27.
John said 1-3 weeks and shipping 4-7 days.
Doll finished and paid for on Nov 22.
Doll still not shipped as of Nov 30.
Reason: “...the box was waiting in line in the Chinese customs.
Because the COVID-19 and US-China trade and political disputes, Shipments of all large boxes all will be delayed.”
Uggg.
Just a heads up for those wondering what it takes to receive a doll from DS these days.

Hope the shipping hold up gets resolved soon and that she is on her way to you!

COViD-19 has done such a number on the doll world, it’s so terrible.

I had a similar experience. ordered through a vendor. factory pics September 22. shipped October 12. arrived in extremely poor packaging with one head damaged to the point of needing a replacement and wigs were missing. replacement wigs arrived a few weeks ago and got a tracking number for the head a few days ago.

mossy, I hope my box doesn’t see the same fate......
BTW they shipped the wigs separate. Got them a week ago.

Shipping label created Dec 4. UPS still has not received package on Dec 9th.

At this stage I do not think my XMAS elf will make it here in time for XMAS this year either.

Finally got a tracking number and delivery time. Due to arrive Christmas Eve, not sure that is going to happen, 8 weeks from order date.

That sucks. My doll just shipped from Sanhui (also based in China). I at least have tracking information, but the estimated delivery seems very unlikely and from what I can tell, she's in a warehouse going nowhere fast. She's being sent by UPS so I might see what they say if I call them, but I think it's just going to be slow.

The wigs shipped separately (apparently some have gone missing when shipped with the doll) via DHL. I had precise tracking from the time they left the DS factory till they arrived at my door. My previous dolls from DS shipped via DHL. Not sure why they switched to UPS.

8 weeks and one day from order to delivery to the East Coast of the US.

The neck really took a hit. Even bent the SN plate. Can’t get it straight by manipulation, so out come the wrenches. I hate to do it to a brand new doll, but I can’t leave it the way it is.

I have cut into the back of the neck to tighten one of my earlier DS girls, so I know exactly what needs to be done. I’m going to try and work from the top down and not cut lengthwise. If that doesn’t get me to where I need to go, then I will cut down the back of the neck. At least that way it will not show, with the wig, etc. Permatex liquid windshield sealer works great for gluing things back together.

There is a 10mm scuff in the front of the right upper leg. Not much to be done except not to rub that area and make it worse.

My previous two orders came in a much stronger double box. Not sure that would help now a days, as it looks like customs just cuts through three sides to have a look. The box gets pretty weak during that procedure.

My previous 2 orders did have neck issues, but not nearly as bad as this. I was able to do some mild manipulation to fix them.

The only tracking info I had was when it hit California, then again when it got to the local distribution center and then out for delivery. That gave me about a 18hr notice.

Ordering from China during this pandemic has sure changed things......

It seems like ordering anything out of China now days, is no longer the relatively smooth operation it used to be prior to the Pandemic, hope one day things get at least somewhat back to how they used to be.

At least she arrived, but the neck damage looks pretty bad. It's good that you've got some experience with DS neck repairs. I hope it turns out ok!

Thanks for the well wishes.
The scuff on the leg was caused by the fingernails digging in.
Not sure how or why the wrists were bent in this fashion...
