Fully Articulated Life Size Action Figures

Post by MX-V »

Hi, so as I may not have come up with something original, it's certainly not something I can find that anyone else is doing.
Robot girl.jpg

Imagine, lifesize (4 to 5 feet high), solid color(for now) anatomically correct and made with firm polymer vinyl. She could be broken down to ship or store.
There are those whom love the doll to look as real as possible and those who love the look of artificial. I am one of those.
Just curious if anyone else could get down with this.

Thanks,
MX-V

I've been working on a 5'3" ball-jointed doll on and off for about a year and a half.

As far as I can tell this has been done commercially twice in the BJD community, each time for limited runs, with the dolls selling for around $2k.

The result is a little less artificial and robotic than the pics you included. Closer to typical BJD's you see. But far more artificial looking than a typical mannequin, since the joints need to be movable.

Very cool. Thank you for the response. Did you make her by 3d printing?
I see that this post gets looked at but no "build it and I'll but it" yet.

I think Smartdoll also did a full scale Smartdoll BJD , I read that recently here, and evidently the price was staggering, so that is what one must consider margin vs marketability for costs.

Thank you Anung. I'll look into that.
I know that I will just have to build some prototypes (well, first get into 3d printing) then see how fun or unfun they are.
By the way, big fan of Lilith. My attempt at a Red Devil Girl with the YL Delilah failed. They must have photoshopped her watermelon head.

Sad to read that, I was looking forward to seeing how she turned out, as I have the conventional non tinted version of that doll (my Lizzy Bathory)

I will pass that message onto to HRH as well, she loves having fans!

I'd go for this. Always wanted an android/gynoid to play with. Remember the Svedka vodka ads? She was hot!

I've been looking around for something similar as well. It would be very cool to have something like this that is also very modular so I can change pieces for different body types.

I'm very much into robotic/android style characters, and don't really care if there are seams and gaps as long as they are part of the aesthetics and design, preferably in a logical/functional manner for articulation and dismantling.

Would love to try and make something like this myself if I had room for that kind of work in my apartment :P
Aio - Sanhui 160cm AIO "Nonoka"
Rei - WM 140cm D-cup #39 & #53
Nymph - DH168 80cm "Shiori"
Ku - DS Ex Lite 163cm "Kayla"
Elva & Alva - 6Ye 65cm #M5 "Mina"

Yes! So glad to know there are others. Yes, I remember the Vodka ads and yes to seams and gaps!
Found a few images to grind some attention.

Check out 1000 Toys synthetic human
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EbY0nHBXEo&app=desktop
Theres a 1/6 and 1/12 scale, but some really nice differences in articulation of both. Still havent seen anyone really nail the clavicles.

Some of the cyberpunk images with elements that are human and elements that feel like hard outer shell ...some mech parts showing, is something I find interesting...but edges more towards cyborg than android.
Cool sculpt and print by the way :)

I've seen the 1000 Toys and am waiting for the female version.
More importantly...Lifesize. Did I forget...Anatomically correct.
The more input I get, the more I want to make this.
By the way...no robotics involved.
Maybe some vibration or heat.
Just a different looking sex doll.
I'll leave A.I. to Matt.

Where is the future we keep getting promised not with flying cars or space travel but with fully realistic sex dolls with AI and fully sculpted human like bodies?

Oh dear, this is a topic that I love.

Although I agree with you, or at least the younger, less cynical, more optimistic version of me agreed long ago.
The future is what we made it and what we make it.

Flying cars: bad idea, people can't even drive on the road.
Space travel: Have you flown lately? Imagine sitting next to the worst person with bad hygiene for days at a time.
Moon Base Alpha:(you didn't mention but it was something I wanted) we almost detonated a nuclear weapon on the backside of the moon to prove to the world we are badass. It would have altered the orbit, in a terrible way.
Humans claim to look for intelligent life (like us), but are we really intelligent? Go to Walmart and you'll realize the zombie apocalypse has already happened, Fox news just didn't cover it.

I don't want to say what I used to do but I'll say I truly wanted "to serve and protect". I just backspaced my long diatribe about humanity and what went wrong.
Then I realized, it's not that I don't care, it's that I can't care anymore.

If the future is sex dolls and robots, then that's what I want. Maybe what a lot of people want.
Don't worry, mankind will go on. Space travel happens. Seti will find intelligent life (it won't end well for one) and the iPhone 1000X will debut with the new "smellophone technology", where you will be able to smell your friends.

My opinion. Hope you understand this was all in humor. Well, almost...
Smile, and slide on the ice.
