IMPORTANT DOLL ALBUM ANNOUNCEMENT
When I attempt to load ten images and click continue after an age the download completes and tells me it's successful.
On viewing the album I find only one image has made it into the album.
Any ideas anyone??
As it takes so long to download just one image it will take hours to complete the album.
Maybe just teething troubles perhaps.
And thanks to all concerned for all the work put in to set up this new system.
its OK I figured it out, you need to keep pressing the continue button to load them all, disregard above.

The old doll album should be viewable, even if read-only, yes? I'm getting a 403 error whenever I try a doll album link, but I can get to the member gallery just fine.

I am assuming that you are encountering this with the new Doll Album software.Everhard wrote:When I log in and click Continue, I get the spurious error message The selected album/file does not exist ! However, when I select my album, all is well.
The next time that it occurs, if you could copy-n-paste the link address (along with the date/time when it occurred) that is producing the 403 error I would greatly appreciate it
This is an interface design issue, and I agree with you that managing the menuing this way is a stupid idea. For one thing, there is no "Internatnal Standard" where the "@" represents to bring up a sub-menu.Everhard wrote:Having to click the @ sign to display the menu is rather odd though. It would be better if it was displayed by default.
I am in the process of studying the interface because I need to add a link to the Old Doll Album, and the advert block for advertising the Toy Store. While I am looking at that I may be able to come up with a more descriptive graphic (something like "extra-menus"). At least that would be clearer.
But recoding the thing so that it constantly displays the sub-menus is venturing down that path of making software upgrading difficult (because the menuing would need to be rewritten every time the software is upgraded).
There is also a chance that I may completely toss out the current interface "skin" and use a differemt one. So for the moment, let's just wait and see how this all resolves itself.
Thanks!

The Doll Album and the Member Gallery reside to two separate servers. So they are not functionally related in any way.Noodle-cart wrote:Great new software! I wasn't around for the old stuff but this is very spiffy. Thank you for woking so hard so that we can share our beautiful dolls with the world.

Could you please clarify where you are getting the 403 error? On the old Doll Album software or the new software.
Also, if you could post the link here that is producing the error it wou;d help immensely.
Thanks!

I just logged in and out and back in again a few times, and I did not encounter the error. Looks like it is fixed. The next time that it occurs, if you could copy-n-paste the link address (along with the date/time when it occurred) that is producing the 403 error I would greatly appreciate it.
Good work.
Woah! New bug: The 'Last additions' thumbnails all go to the wrong pages. (The random photos thumbnails all seem okay, though.)
Edit:
Seems to be fixed now.

The old software. Any URL on the dollalbum domain produces the error.Ishtaria wrote:Could you please clarify where you are getting the 403 error? On the old Doll Album software or the new software.

Unfortunately, the album would not accept my original pics as they were too large - the old TDA software would resize pics instead of rejecting them. I also liked the nested album feature of the old TDA.
But hey - I can get around all these bits easily and I will eventually get use to all the changes. The new software is fast and cross-platform friendly.
Great job Ish.....
Regards,
Dave.

I haven't even been able to see any of the new album, or the old one at that. I am begining to wonder if some how my firewal is responsible for this.
http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/index.php is the address that gives me this error:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /dollgallery/index.php on this server.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.DollAlbum.com Port 80
I was wanting to put up an album for Honey, but I can't even see the albums in the first place.
I have tried both Firefox and IE, but no lock with either. I also am accessing from my wireless router, but when I actually plug in, it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any help that someone can give me would be mst appreciated!
You are using firefox as your browser.
I know this because your IP address appears in the list of IPs blocked.
Is anyone else who uses firefox experiencing a problem? I'm wondering if firefox is doing something that is tripping a security flag.

Reordering Photos
On the title bar just above the photos, on the right, it says TITLE + - FILE NAME + - DATE + -. The + and - symbols are buttons. Clicking them reorders the photos in your display.rentell wrote:...is there anyway to alter the order of the photos?
I titled my photos with numbers to get them in order when I use the TITLE + ordering. Some photos without title text just have the number. Of course anyone viewing my album with a different sort criterion (filename or date) won't make sense of the storyline. But hopefully they will notice the numbers in the titles...
