I use these craft u-pins. Anchor well and completely invisible when pressed in snug.

Wig cap (beige or white) are good- pin the wig to the cap. Stapler is NOT recommended, nor are nails, thumbtacks are too short. Also the elastic ribbons that you can use to tighten the grip of the wig can be used as a G.I. chinstrap (will likely ride up into the gap between the neck and head on non-AIO dolls).
