Damaged neck bolt on my Reiko Doll suggestions on repairs
Damaged neck bolt on my Reiko Doll suggestions on repairs
I purchased a flawed Reiko but in all fairness it looks like that perhaps my issue happened in shipping once again! The dolls head won't stay in one spot it flops around like a bobble head, the DM suggest to pull the neck down and use super glue with powder to fix the issue but when I pulled the neck down I saw that the neck bolt has broken as you can see from the photo, I am still working with the DM but I thought I would ask here as well.
So if anyone has any suggestions on repairs I would appreciated it very much because as it stands now I can only take laying down shots and play is very limited.
Thank you
Boew

Is the bolt just held in by the silicone? I figured they were attached to a skeleton/ spine piece.
Looks like it has wire wrapping to allow the silicone to grip it and it tore loose from the silicone. Didn't actually break the bolt.

I too purchased a 1AM, but it's a Tiffany, without the neck bolt. There was a post here about that neck issue of not staying in position (turning back and forth). The fix was simple, just add a lock-washer the same diameter as the neck screw that the head screws onto and it stops that movement when it bottoms out as the head is tightened on. I haven't tried that yet, but might later.

Even then it's going to be really questionable how to get two parts of iron back onto another that are going to hold when you and the doll are together if it's not the original spine.
If they can't help you, you may have to find a way to stiffen up the part so that it at least won't tear the silicone or fabric w/e doll you have and keep that stiff and sturdy from now on. No more bending the head :\
If you have any questions about cutting and glueing, let me know...

The DM is going to work with me they found a very creative solution to the problem that is truly amazing and unexpected on my end to say the least, Joy with BD just informed me that the DM wants to ship me a new body and I just pay for shipping that's incredible I never thought that would happen well it looks like I found my future supplier of all good things! Thanks Joy, thanks BD, thanks TDF!

Tiriaq, I think DM = doll maker
So whats going to happen to the old body? I'm sure it can probably be fixed.

Sorry Beautiful Dolls is who I purchased her from but they are just a reseller from what I understand and I am not sure who the Doll Make is the only reason why I stated it that way is in all the emails from BD they mentioned they needed to talk to the Manufacture who made the doll hence the term DM so yes you are correct.rubherkitty wrote:Glad it worked out.

Sorry for being way of the mark here.
By neck bolt, I was thinking of the neck hanging bolt that a few other doll makers provide to hang the doll for storing.
