Jessica's "I'm Sorry" Gift + Explanation

Post by AlexaTilbrook »

Hey. Like my gal JessiD has been bugging the hell out of me for this, and so she can show it off, here is her "I'm Sorry" gift:

First, an explanation of the items:

1. Arizona Jean Co. T-shirt printed like scribblings in a notebook
2. Pair Size 3 blue jeans (dark blue)
3. Brown Airwalk mid-rise skate shoes

Now the reason why and why I promised her such a gift:

This past Saturday night/early Sunday morning, I was not feeling well. I had awakened to take multiple trips to the bathroom many times that night. The last time I went before I was able to fall asleep for an extended period of time was when I made Jessica a little upset at me, and when I crawled back into bed, something happened. I heard a loud "SNAP!" but didn't pay any mind to it. I just fell asleep hoping everything was okay.

When I woke up a while later, I found that I broke off the post that attaches her right arm to her body. I was apologizing up and down (and left and right and B and A and Start  Konami Code: Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start--Jessi gets it) saying that I was sorry and it was completely unintentional but I gave her a kiss a few times on the lips and had did a temporary bandage (by taping on the arm until I found the implement that attaches her arm to her body [it was in her arm] and when I can figure out a way how to put it back on) and had to find a way to keep it on until I found such a way.

So, the night of, I was thinking of how to do it. Since I know Jessica is a plastic mannequin, usual adhesives don't usually stay on for long, if at all. So, super glue and its relatives were thought out and discarded one by one. So my only choice was to use hardware and power tools. I needed a screw with a shaft diameter small enough to attach the broken piece to her body and make it to where it would be at least semi-permanent.

The next morning, I took out of my toolbox a 18 volt power drill, a bit small enough to tap the hole in both the broken piece and the body itself, drilled at a low enough RPM to not crack either piece, then took a wood screw and put it in, holding the piece (and her body in one amazing feat) while screwing (not that kind of "screwing" ... ) the screw in the holes I tapped and then attached her arm back on.

Success!!! :multi:

So, like many real people (men and women), who have screws in their bones and/or joints from a serious fracture, Jessica has one herself for the same reason. It's holding up fine and she's good as new, given the fact that I had her since November 2011. (Her birthday is October 20, but the reason why that date was selected is a different story and might be mentioned in a post in the distant future.)

So, here's some photos I took of the gift I gave her, because I promised her this gift, not as a "get well" gift, not as anything else but an "I'm sorry" gift, because it was totally my fault that I caused the damage, and since I ♥love♥ Jessica to death, I promised her this, and anyway, she hadn't got anything new from me for quite a while, so it was another justification I made to get her a new outfit.

Without further ado, here's some pictures of the outfit:
