For the companies that were being legit, there was a higher level of give-a-damn back then than there has been since. Now that solid dolls are very cheap, I've noticed the level of effort with inflatables decreasing and the market shrinking down to a very small niche where before it was the dominant type. That was inevitable, but I think there is still plenty that can be done with inflatables, in fact I think combining inflatable bodies with TPE outer parts (face, breast, vag, ass) in a clever way would rejuvenate the market. The look and weight advantage would be enticing. I saw Diao Shi try a form of that with TPE breasts, but it's not done in a visually pleasing way.

I think that they still have a place in the market, not everyone can afford or wants a solid doll. inflateables solve a lot of issues for some, and don't break the bank. plus I think that tech has reached a point that they could do even more with the dolls now than ever before.
