I see that photos of my works are gaining silent views))).
then I continue to develop the topic I started on sewing my own dolls based on the appearance of a certain woman. It will entertain me and you, but someone else may find it useful in his work.
So.
First of all, when creating a doll, I make a pencil sketch of the doll's head from photographs of a woman. front and profile. and a sketch of the body with proper anthropometric data. height. length of arms, legs, width of body. thickness waist hips etc. I take this data from the screen of a wide TV. although recently I spotted in an old book on sculpture “a breakdown of the body according to the number of heads filling its silhouette.” in general, this is also a pretty good method. When developing patterns for Christie, I used it for the first time. (But I was still a little mistaken with the length of her body in the area of her abdomen and pelvis.) When developing the patterns for Carol Connors, I took these deviations into account and when working on her body, all the parameters should turn out as they should.

When I needle felt a doll’s face from padding polyester, I attach sketches of the head to the blank from time to time. I compare the height, width of the nose, eyes, chin, cheekbones and the like. The sketch allows you to stay within the required dimensions. this action seems to “correct the fire.” just as the senior officer of an artillery battery uses a topographic map along with other special tools to adjust the battery's fire to the target. trying to place her projectiles exactly at a certain point or area. I call this "hitting the similarity." It was a lyrical military field allegory.)))
Since I do not have an artistic eye and innate qualities to perceive and convey proportions like Michelangelo, this trick makes my work much easier.
завтра выложу фото новых лекал для тела Кэрол Коннорс и процесса вырезки по ним деталей из материи.

Tomorrow, if possible, I’ll post a photo of the patterns and the process of cutting out body parts for the “Carol Connors” doll from a two-meter piece of fabric.

Very impressive!
I am really interested in how you have resolved the boobs. I can't stand boobs with circular 360 degree seams, and you seen to have devised a way to resolve that! Awesome!
I'm really interested in seeing/learning how you achieve such excellent results.

Ничего сложного, преподобный. Я подсмотрел этот способ на одной текстильной куколке. потом при постройке лекал развил идею что бы сделать сиськи побольше. Когда выложу фото лекал объясню способ построения тела с такими сиськами.

Nothing complicated, Reverend. I noticed this method on one textile doll. Then, when constructing the patterns, I developed the idea of making bigger boobs. When I post a photo of the patterns, I’ll explain how to build a body with such boobs.

:D Thank you. Tired of it. I don't see the point in messing around with this when I'm not in the mood for it. When I created this topic, I thought that I would interest many on this site and encourage them to independently work on making dolls in this way. But I didn’t expect that people were so lazy and so apathetic. When the topic reaches 10,000 views. Then I'll post new photos in it. May be. if I'm in the right mood.
