Re: Doll's motor experienced short circuit
I wish you have most merry christmas holiday!
But it is so sad your doll is not well ;_;
What is motor doing in doll? It is to move hip?
Maybe there was current overload, yes, much torque, motor powered but forced to stop and not moving for long,
making heat not escaping thin winding, damaging isolation and creating short.
Maybe there is water inside from washing, and short is between phase wire winding.
Does doll have service door? I never saw doll with motor^^ I am sorry.
How do you know motor is shorted? Maybe connector is damaged and current and ground are touching in there?
It would be most nice to measure motor and not wiring to tell. But not easy to do with no service door >.<
I wish you can make diagnosis and help doll soon!
Best is to ask doll company for advice before making operation to see motor I think!

Re: Doll's motor experienced short circuit
I asked SEDoll if they could help me out, but they said they didn't know how to help.
I know it is shorted because when I tried to detect its voltage using a voltage detector, it returned a value of 0V. When I plugged my doll in with SEDoll's official plug, the wire became very hot and burned.
Re: Doll's motor experienced short circuit
When a short causes motor circuitry wires to burn then it's major surgery time or stop trying to fix it and just treat the doll as though there is no hip motor

Re: Doll's motor experienced short circuit
have you tried opened her back where the motor is? you could make a box where you could access the motor if it short again and just put a part of tpe in front of it so it's hidden by seams.
