What oils are safe for skin maintenance for silicon and TPE doll types

Post by Satisdix »

My dear silicon doll's knees are splitting. I use to use unscented baby oil on my dolls, but then read I should NEVER use baby oil on silicone girls, just TPE girls.

So PLEASE tell us what oils can be used for the two types of dolls, that will help their joints from drying and cracking. They are all in need ASAP.

Thanks folks

I've also heard that since products containing alcohols are to be avoided with TPE, one should use a fragrance-free baby oil, as most every added scent/fragrance is alcohol-based.

For Silicone dolls, keep clean and powdered
If cracks or splits appear, repair with a Silicone adhesive, usually Permatex RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant is a good all round product
No idea what would have caused the splits in the first place but the advice from manufacturers is to never stress the doll material for longer than necessary to reduce the risk of damage
