One more introduction to the pile
So yeah, hi to all, I'm cdnm! Not a native English speaker, so I hope you'll give me the grace to fall flat on my face when I trip on my own tongue and typing or how ever the saying goes While I haven't posted yet since creating an account in May, I've been reading posts for some time before that too to learn about the dolls and community. While I don't have a doll in my life yet, there is one soon(?) entering in picture. All of the money talk and details are done and the long wait is ahead
I must say all the discussions, reviews and general silliness here have been really helpful and enjoyable. Thank you for that if you've been part of it and let's hope there's a lot more to come!
Who ever might be reading this, please do drop a suggestion or tips on what might be some good things to know around here or good things to read around here for a newcomer! All suggestions welcome and one to all of you!

Welcome to TDF. You say you have a doll on the way. What doll did you order We would all love to meet her when she arrives. Have you decided on a name for her yet or are you going to wait until she arrives Take care Vickylover.

Re: One more introduction to the pile
She is a Elsa Babe Shiina Tomoyo (link to the EBs TDF introduction thread).
I would love to know what to name her in advance. Still, I try to quell that urge to think about it for now and trust the name will come up naturally as soon as I see herVickylover wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 8:59 am Hi cdnm

Has your naming process been the same or did you know ahead of time what it will be?
And have to ask, Vickylover, what is your take on the birthday? Is it her birthday on the day of deal finalization, the day of ending of manufacturing, the day of arrival or something else?

Re: One more introduction to the pile
For me it was a little different, Emma was an in stock doll at a vendor here in the UK. She was manufactured and shipped to the UK some time before I ordered her. So I took the day the big heavy box turned up on my doorstep and then added twenty years so Emma is now twenty three years old. Any of the things you suggest can be taken as her birthday. In the TPE section of "Dolls in general" there is a thread "What day do you consider her 'Birth date" you might like to take a read of that. Hope some of this helps, take care Vickylover.

Thank you for the warm welcomes, The Doll Man & Leatherman!
Thank you for pointing this one out! Just found the thread you mentioned and will be reading it right after.Vickylover wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 7:48 am So I took the day the big heavy box turned up on my doorstep and then added twenty years so Emma is now twenty three years old. And yeah, I have been leaning on thinking the day of arrival might be the birthday too, but there's no rush to decide or set things in stone yet

Re: One more introduction to the pile
The best thing about all this is that there isn't any right or wrong. It is down to whatever suits you and your girl and no one is going to say you are wrong. But don't forget whatever date you choose as her birthday, your doll is going to expect lots of nice prezzies: jewellery, lingerie and shoes to name but a few. Take care Vickylover.

Re: One more introduction to the pile
Thank you for the welcome, I really do appreciate it!
I'm not sure if I'll be writing a lot before she arrives, as there's so much to read, learn and get ready before that. But, I'm sure as preparations and all calm down a little I'll be joining in on discussions and sharing a shy bit more
