New Tayu 158 to be Released - 3D Scanned from Human!

I hope I am not stealing Tayu's thunder on this post, but I just saw this announcement on their official Twitter account today:

A new 158 Tayu doll is under development!

It is apparently based on a 3D scan of a real human body!

A 158 is a great petite size, especially if they can achieve realistic proportions for realism and for ease of finding well fitting clothes.

I wonder what the measurements will be!

If they could achieve

BREAST 81cm or larger, 32"+

WAIST 60-61cm, ~24"

HIPS: 89-91.5cm, ~35"

WEIGHT 25kg, ~53lbs

Cup Size: D (does appear to be a D, which will be very popular)

They may not be able to hit these numbers but if they could get close, this could be THE doll to get for those looking for a petite, lightweight, but extremely realistic doll!

Also this will be a great option for those that live in regions where there are minimum height requirements for dolls (often 150cm). So, in some states the 148 is a no-go but this 158 will fit the bill.

For me the light white-pink tones in the photo wash out all the dimensions & features, making it hard to see the body clearly.

I've attempted to bring out more contrast with a little photoshop... it's not a great job, and It's not going to change the shape if you're not into it, but with a tan, and some contrast and different colors... you can make things out a bit more.

This is a wonderful sculpt and shows the advantages of 3D scanning in the doll design process. I would have liked slightly smaller hips, perhaps 35" (89-90cm), but frankly this looks great to me. The legs are somewhat short, but this is anatomically correct for most women. She has thicker ankles and wrists, so a big-boned girl.....again, most realistic compared to the fantasy figures we usually get. I hope they do very well with this. The Photoshopped picture shows the level of excellent and very realistic detail incorporated in this fine new doll, Bravo, Tayu! The tush is great as is - let the ass men who like trim butts have their day - thank you.....

The scanning was probably mostly for improving certain surface details (e.g., on the back, knee, etc.) and connector points, like wrists or ankles. Honestly body proportion wise, the 158 is still a fantasy shape everywhere except leg length. She has really well shaped D chest, but a super thin waist at 23 inches, with a waist to hip ratio of 0.61! This is very close to the golden ratio (0.618). Ya I can agree maybe 92 cm would be a bit better, but it's not really big, basically hip is on the edge between a size 4 and 6.

I found inseam length on Taiwanese vendor site, and her inseam to height ratio is 47.5%. Compared to the 148 and 155, which have ratios of 49.3% and 49%, legs on the 158 are and look to be more normal length. This is actually still longer than the average woman, which is about 46% (there are large physical measurement survey data from both China and the US that put this number between 45.5 and 46.5, so I am using 46). On the other hand, if you proportionally extend the height of the 148 body to be >170cm, the legs would be super model long.
