Storing the doll with or without the clothes?

Post by PrivateUser1 »

Hey friends,
I was curious to know if I should store my doll with or without the clothes? Does it damage the skin if I store the doll with clothes for long time (Like a month) or is it better to do it without? Also, I do it with the clothes cuz it gathers dust and dirt less.
Thanks :)

Really depends on the clothes. Tight fit or loose? Coloured or white/neutral? When you say "store" do you mean standing or lying?
If you store her lying down, I would say it's better to have her naked. If she lays on severe wrinkles or other protrusions, they can cause small indentations in her skin over time. You can cover her with a blanket (the one she came with, or other soft covering) to keep her free of dust.

I store my doll hanging as that is what the manufacturer has recommended. as far as clothing only light colors for storing and nothing too tight ( as it could make indentations on the doll ). If I am storing my doll for a length of time I usually leave her naked, but I also have the space and privacy to do that.
I would say the only exception would be if your doll needs support for her boobs (if they are larger) the a loose fitting bra may be what you need, I read a post somewhere that nursing bras are the way to go with that as they are supportive and have no underwire.

Hope that helps some.

Hi,
Everyone's situation is different. For me I use a 1 size fit's all body suit. Then place her in a sleeping bag. Depending on how long I'm gonna store her, then put her back in the original box or
custom storage furniture.

Hopefully this helps.
Kindest Regards,
Naz

If she is wearing a flesh colored body stocking, or mesh shirt; even completely white clothes, I would say it is safe to store her dressed. However, you risk the event of a fabric stain with any other colors, over a lengthy period of time, even if you have purchased items made from high quality fabric, or those of low quality, but have been adequately washed.
I love and have loved many dolls.
